The McDonald’s All-American Game has always been a launchpad for basketball legends. From Michael Jordan to LeBron James, it’s where greatness gets its first big stage. This year, the torch passes to a new generation, and two proud basketball dads, Gilbert Arenas, and Carlos Boozer, couldn’t be more thrilled.

Both former NBA stars now get to see their sons Alijah Arenas and twins Cameron and Cayden Boozer step into the spotlight. The occasion certainly calls for a celebration and Gil made sure to have one! On his podcast, Gil’s Arena, he welcomed Alijah in style. Decked out in McDonald’s red gear and, carrying jerseys and burgers for the crew, Alijah stole the show. The room erupted in cheers. “Congratulations, my dawg, making the family good,” said a very proud Gilbert Arenas, shaking hands with his son.

Meanwhile, Carlos Boozer took a different approach. Speaking on ESPN’s NBA Today, he offered some fatherly wisdom. “Just go enjoy yourself,” he said. “Enjoy the festivities, live in the moment, be where your feet are.” When his sons joined him on a video call, the emotion was clear. “I’m so proud of y’all, man. You’ve been making us proud from day one,” Boozer beamed. He ended with a playful shoutout: “Burger boys! You feel me?”

Interestingly, their paths to this moment couldn’t be more different. While Boozer earned his spot in the McDonald’s All-American Game in 1999, Arenas never got the chance. Boozer, a standout at Juneau-Douglas High, dominated alongside Nick Collison and Jason Kapono for the West team. On the East, stars like Jay Williams and Keith Bogans brought the heat.

Boozer’s performance was unforgettable—11 rebounds and 22 points, second only to MVP Jonathan Bender’s 31. Years later, Boozer and Arenas would face off in the NBA. Now, as their sons rise through the ranks, we might just witness a new Arenas vs. Boozer era after 13 years.

Gilbert Arenas and Carlos Boozer went head-to-head for a decade in the NBA, with Arenas earning three All-Star nods and an impressive career average of 20.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. Bragging rights for the next generation and a whole new chapter in their families’ legendary rivalry.

Alijah’s East teammates are stacked with talent, featuring standouts like AJ Dybantsa, Caleb Wilson, Koa Peat, and Meleek Thomas. This squad is filled with future stars, ready to make their names. With such a strong lineup, fans can expect highlight-worthy moments when the game tips off.
