Shaquille O’Neal’s health transformation has been remarkable. After battling sleep apnea and other health issues, the four-time NBA champion turned his life around. With a new diet and therapy for his neck problems, the 324-pound Hall of Famer is now a much healthier version of himself. But during a recent Inside the NBA broadcast, Shaq’s wild food antics took a hilariously unhealthy turn, leaving his colleagues squirming in their seats.

It all started while the Inside the NBA crew discussed the game between the Washington Wizards and the Phoenix Suns, specifically highlighting Bol Bol’s appearance. Shaq, clearly excited about Bol Bol, began mixing a chaotic concoction in a giant bowl. “Every time my boy Bol Bol plays gotta give it a big bowl,” he joked while tossing nachos, popcorn, and an energy drink together. Visibly disgusted, his co-hosts immediately mentioned, “I dare you to eat that.”

Classic Shaq didn’t disappoint, grabbing a spoon to fake eating the unholy mixture. He even urged the camera crew to zoom in, hoping to trick viewers into believing he actually tried it. “Shoutout to my boy, Bol Bol!” he yelled, leaving the others in stitches. But when he finally attempted a bite, the reaction was priceless. Charles Barkley and the rest of the crew shouted, “That’s disgusting!”

Shaq took it a step further, actually picking up a nacho, dipping it into the bowl, and taking a bite. But even he couldn’t handle the madness, ultimately spitting it out. “Nasty!” Barkley declared, while Ernie Johnson added, “I don’t know which is worse. This or bumping into Olivier Rioux.” The comment referenced Rioux’s towering 7’9” height, a far cry from Shaq’s bold (but questionable) culinary creation.

As for the game, Devin Booker led the Suns with 37 points, with Kevin Durant contributing 23 in a 130-123 win. Bol Bol, Shaq’s now favorite, played just four minutes, scoring three points and grabbing one rebound.

Despite the Wizards’ fiery comeback in the fourth quarter, the Suns managed to hold their ground, securing the win after a clutch trey from Booker. And while Booker’s play made headlines, Shaq’s “big bowl” antics became the real MVP of the night. However, despite this fun, Shaq has become serious about his health.

Shaq’s health journey

A few months ago, Shaquille O’Neal opened up about the toll his intense playing career took on his body. While taking a jab at Rudy Gobert, he admitted to dealing with lingering issues, including neck problems. Recently, the Fascia Institute and Treatment Center posted a photo of the 4x NBA champion after undergoing a Hydrofascial Release treatment.

According to their post, the therapy immediately improved his neck mobility, giving him much-needed relief. “Just one session,” they claimed, was enough to make a difference for The Big Aristotle.

However, there’s one major flaw in Shaq’s health routine: his weird relationship with water. Despite all the warnings, he openly hates drinking it and only gulps it down when his body signals dehydration.

“I treat my body like a gas tank,” he explained to Alonzo Mourning during The Big Podcast. “I’ll go (long hours without drinking water) until I feel dehydration and then I drink two gallons to the head. Is that okay?” While Shaq may think it’s funny, Mourning clearly wasn’t amused.

Mourning, known for his strict diet, gave him an earful on the podcast. “The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is drink 8 ounces of water… I don’t drink any orange juice, man. Too much sugar in it,” he shared.

Clearly, Shaquille O’Neal could learn a thing or two from Mourning’s healthier habits. Let’s hope he starts hydrating better because neck treatments can only go so far if the basics aren’t in check!
