Years after dominating the world of basketball, Michael Jordan is placing his emphasis on other priorities. The 14x NBA All Star has been focused on developing his various professional brands, engaging in different investments and endorsements. At the same time, he is also focused on being a family man.

It’s been 4 years since the former Chicago Bulls player welcomed his first and only grandchild. In a recent interview, Jordan’s daughter described the birthing process and its aftermath, including a moment when social media users got on her nerve.

During an interview with Birth Queen, an organization that provides aid to pregnant black women, Jasmine Jordan provided some insight to the viewers about how everything came to be when she was pregnant with her son, Rakeem Michael Christmas. From her father getting to know about the pregnancy to her reaction upon holding the baby for the very first time, she openly talked about the important highlights of her pregnancy.

During the interview, Jasmine drew the interviewer’s attention to a moment that occurred after the birth. She spoke about getting requests from people on social media to see her baby. Some people even went on to say that they “deserve” to see his face. This, according to her, was not something she felt comfortable with.

“That’s creepy,” said Jasmine. “You’re sitting at home, behind your desktop, looking for a child’s face for what? Did that pay your bill? Does that help you sleep, seeing my baby’s face? No.” Some of the users, hiding behind the anonymity of social media, claimed that the reason Jasmine wasn’t showing Rakeem’s face was probably because he must be suffering from some “deformity”.

“Y’all are talking about a baby. You know that, right?” said Jasmine when talking about the ‘deformity’ comments. “Like, a child that can’t even defend itself.”

During her childhood, Jasmine was unaware of her father’s fame and used to get confused when people used to praise Michael. She had to literally google her own father in order to find out what the hype was all about.
