Kevin Garnett, who’s known for his intense demeanor and imposing his will to win games, knows a thing or two about getting better in the game of basketball. Since hanging up his boots, he’s been working as a basketball analyst for Showtime Basketball. Recently on his show, KG Certified, he was spotted giving props to a former number-one draft pick. The 15x All-Star is convinced that he’s set to make waves in the NBA in the upcoming season.

Garnett won every accolade that there is to win in the league. The 2008 NBA Champion knows what it takes to win the prestigious MVP award. He’s convinced a certain Minnesota Timberwolves star is set to make strides in that direction.

Anthony Edwards was the number one pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He was known for his explosiveness prior to entering the league. He has only added to his game ever since. Last season he averaged 24.6 points per game. Garnett is convinced that this time around he’s going to be in the MVP conversation and do something monumental in the regular season.

Garnett said, “Anthony Edwards, he looks different. The summertime everybody kind of like you don’t see nobody for two months, and then all of a sudden you see somebody and then, ‘That m*****f***r look good!’ Or you can tell that M*****f****r been working with, you know what I’m saying. That’s how Anthony Edwards looks to me.”

He added, “He just looks super motivated, bro.” Garnett was impressed by the way Edwards conducts himself. Garnett had earlier tweeted, “Ant Man in that conversation this year…” referring to the MVP accolade. Edwards recently made headlines after his stunning performance for the US against Germany ahead of the FIBA World Cup.

Stephen A. Smith was impressed by Anthony Edwards

Anthony Edwards was spotted in the movie Hustle, which is about an up-and-coming ball player. Stephen A. Smith was impressed by Edwards’ acting skills. He said, “If I produce a movie with a sports figure, I am getting Anthony Edwards. That brother did a phenomenal job.”

It’ll be interesting to see if Edwards features in another Hollywood feature film, and if Garnett’s prediction about Edwards comes true. For now, the 22-year-old remains focused on the upcoming World Cup and getting redemption for the disappointing 7th-placed finish in 2019.
