LeBron James broke the internet once again! The 4x NBA champion added another accolade to his impressive portfolio. King James became the first player in NBA history to score 40,000 regular-season points in his career. Fans quickly started to pour wishes and tribute messages to the legend for his historic feat. Soon, the giants of the league also took to social media to congratulate the Los Angeles Lakers star. Among them was James’ former teammate, Dwyane Wade.

The Miami Heat legend also took to his Instagram to pay tribute to his brother. Notably, LeBron scored 7,919 of his regular-season points during the 4-year partnership alongside Wade. The Flash shared one of the posts on his Instagram story and wrote, “What a time to be alive! Let’s appreciate the HISTORY we all get to witness,” along with a salute emoji and crown. This biggest feat of James’ career came after the Lakers’ most recent 124-114 loss against the Denver Nuggets. In the clip, the crowd can be seen paying a standing ovation to the champ and the ball that he used to achieve the feat was also taken out of the game. On the other hand, the Nuggets achieved a winning streak of 6 games.

We played some good basketball but weren’t able to close it out, so [it’s] bittersweet, but I enjoyed every moment on the floor,” said James. It was only natural for his two-championship-winning teammate to come forward to cheer for his fried.

Dwyane Wade’s bond with LeBron James

The two were probably one of the best duos in league history. Both members of the 2003 NBA Draft were young and still full of potential. However, it was their collected efforts and partnership that led the Miami Heat to a repeat of the NBA championship . When LeBron James signed with the Heat, both stars were at their peak and to win the title, one had to take up the secondary role. That is when Dwyane Wade came forward to make the sacrifice.

About his sacrifice, D-Wade said, “I wanted to give him the opportunity where he didn’t have to think about that. It’s kind of like I told him, ‘Listen, I’ll find my way. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be there. But you go out and be the player that we want you to be.'”

The two changed their approach to the game and the 3x NBA champion decided to take the supporting role for James. This brought rings 2 and 3 for Wade and the city of Miami. In his second last season, D-Wade would return the favor by joining James in the city that drafted him.
