Shaunie Henderson has found the right person. As a mother of five, she has always longed for love and respect in her relationships. She searched for such a bond in her past relationships but has now found it in her husband, Keion Henderson. Even during a tough and heartbreaking moment for Shaunie, the Lighthouse Church Pastor had only one wish which was to help his wife. His voice trembled, showing the deep emotions he felt as he recounted the experience on their joint podcast, The GrOw Zone.
Pastor Keion recalled the time when Shaunie’s father passed away. He explained how the funeral cost was expensive and Shaunie even hesitated about spending so much. However, her husband wasn’t concerned about the expense.
After seeing the tears in her and her sister’s eyes, he realized that, at that moment, the budget didn’t matter to him. “When they gave us the price of what it would cost to do it, I just was like, ‘Yeah.’ It was enormous… and then you all were like, ‘Whoa, whoa, wait a minute. Do we want to spend that much? But the love I have for you and your sisters, I didn’t consider a budget,” Keion Henderson recalled.

For Keion, it was never about the money. He added, “It wasn’t a money thing and I think that the true testament of a relationship, as it relates to money, there’s a scripture that says, ‘Where your heart is your treasure will be also,’ and I think that the real key takeaway is just make sure that your money and your heart are in the right place. Because if your money and your heart are in the right place, then it won’t be about the budget, it won’t be about the car coz all that stuff is immaterial.”
“That’s so good. That’s why I get you good gifts. Because I love you,” Shaunie cheekily said. All he wanted was to support them. It was a delicate time for the family as they coped with their loss. It hit them days before Shaunie’s wedding to the Pastor.

Grief-stricken, she could no longer manage the wedding planning. To her rescue, her then-fiancé, Henderson, took care of all the hospital and mortuary arrangements. Shaunie even considered postponing the wedding to stay with her family during this difficult time. She feared that her sisters and mother might judge her for moving forward with the wedding after her father’s death.

She struggled to process the pain, ultimately deciding to let Pastor Keion handle the wedding plans. But deep down, she worried about what others might think. However, it was her mother who urged Shaunie to go ahead with the wedding.
Later, Shaunie realized that her father would have wanted the same for her, as she shared with her listeners. The couple married at Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club on May 28, 2022. Now, on their joint podcast, the two are candid about their relationship and the challenges couples might face.
