It’s not the most competitive phase of the NBA season without things heating up in Studio J. Inside the NBA indulged in a little trivia game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire style but more intense because you need only one wrong answer to be thrown out of the game. Some diehard fans would know this is Bleacher Report’s newest offering and it isn’t easy for the biggest NBA trivia maniacs because it’s 10 questions in 20 seconds. The game served to prove that Charles Barkley is terrible at NBA trivia. Not a good look for the Sports Emmy-nominated studio analyst.
‘Cletus’ was given a little leeway with multiple-choice questions and he only had to do a five-question streak with no time limit. And yet he fumbled on a question about himself. Asked about how many NBA games he has played in, he answered 976 with misplaced confidence. The answer was really 1073. And the game ended at the first question.
While Chuck was unable to get over the shock, Kenny “The Jet” Smith and Shaquille O’Neal were split on the rules. “Stop being a wimp. The rules are what they are,” Shaq contended when Kenny demanded more concession for Barkley. Let’s see if Shaq maintains the same opinion when he’s in the hot seat. He already got one question wrong.

Ernie Johnson said at the start they’d try this game with the others too. But before Shaq’s turn, Barkley tested out if knowing this piece of information was normal. When he snapped out of the trauma of losing at the first hurdle, he interrogated Shaq about how many games he had played. “1175,” that’s Shaq’s ballpark. And Kenny is right that he made it up.

Shaq’s failing his own trivia
O’Neal doesn’t get enough bragging rights over Chuck. Across 19 seasons, he’s played 1207 games in his career. That’s 32 – the number Orlando Magic retired in his honor – more than 1175. Who would’ve got this piece of trivia right? LeBron James. He recently teased Shaq for having more double-digit games in a row than Shaq’s total career. That fact apparently didn’t sink in for Shaq.
But Shaq will sell anything with that confidence. The LSU alum also threw shade at Chuck’s alma mater with the stinging, “That’s the Auburn University education.”

However, now Chuck has challenged him to make a five-question streak on this game tomorrow. Since Big Diesel thinks he’s a “guaranteed” win, he’d better study up his own trivia.
