Jamal Crawford has not played since 2020 when he was part of the Brooklyn Nets. After his playing career came to a close, Crawford’s broadcasting career started. He is currently one of the best analysts in the game but he also doesn’t think his playing days are too far behind him. Recently, the 43-year-old claimed that he could still average 20 points in the league. However, not many believed him.

Crawford also recently gave a warning to a viral challenger. But the 3x Sixth Man of the Year has now proved he could still ball. As his nickname J Crossover suggests, the former Los Angeles Clippers star was known for his insane handles. But this time, he proved that he is still athletic at 43.

On Christmas Eve, Crawford and his son had a pick game in LA Fitness with former Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas and former basketball player turned coach Will Conroy and their children. During the game, Crawford effortlessly elevated for a tip-in dunk. IT posted the clip on his Instagram handle.

Jamal Crawford re-shared the clip on his story with the caption, “@chillconroy captured once in a lifetime moment, with only fathers and sons touching the rock that possession! It’s about memories and moments. #fatherhood”.

He was clearly more pleased with the whole play and creating memories with his son, friends, and their children. But it does inadvertently lend credence to his earlier argument.

Jamal Crawford’s claim does not seem improbable now

In one of the recent NBA Mailbag episodes, a fan asked Jamal Crawford how much he thinks he would average if he was still playing. Crawford replied, “In a sixth-man role, I could average low 20s. In a starting role, I could average really high 20s.”

During his incredible career in the NBA, Crawford averaged 14.6 points per game as per Basketball Reference. In his prime from 2006 to 2010, he averaged 19 points while starting most of his games.

Notably, he scored 51 points when he was 39 and broke Michael Jordan‘s record to be the oldest player to score 50 points. However, many thought Crawford’s claims were a bit far-fetched. But, after the recent tip-in dunk clip, fans were impressed with his bounce and wondered whether he could still play a part in the NBA.

He gone have some teams calling before the games tomorrow”.

Another fan hilariously compared the former guard to Victor Wembanyama, “Yo it’s levels to this game!!@jamalcrawford got the effortless tip back like he’s Wemby at the Y!!!!”.

Most fans were certainly impressed by Crawford’s athleticism at 43 and applauded the former star. But do you think he could still make an impact on a team in the NBA? Maybe the Detroit Pistons?
