The beef between Austin Rivers and former Golden State Warriors star Stephen Jackson has come to be a worthy filler until the NBA Finals start. The playoffs haven’t been the only event that has kept the fans engaged. Podcasts of former basketball stars have also made some noise on social media. Rivers went viral after he shared a controversial take on NBA players’ capacity to join the NFL. Jackson was questioned about this take which resulted in the humiliation of Rivers. However, the point guard wanted to get the last laugh, and surprisingly, fans assisted him to get the job done.
Stephen Jackson said, “I just don’t wanna be in no conversation with Austin Rivers’ name involved. Why is his name even involved? I don’t even wanna answer a question with his name phrased in it. Austin Rivers is somebody not relevant nowhere.” Rivers took his revenge on X.
The former Denver Nuggets guard tweeted, “This so ironic considering he stays having my name in his mouth (I have never met this guy btw lol). The comments say it all. He’s at it again lmao!! Poor dude starving for attention. Sad sight tbh. I honestly wish him nothing but the best fr. Good God bro…grow up”

Like Rivers mentioned, the comments were in favor of him. One read, “Stephen Jackson act like he was a star we don’t remember him like that,” summing up Rivers’ case.
When did the beef between Stephen Jackson and Austin Rivers start?
Rivers, who hosts NBA Today along with Malika Andrews, shared yet another controversial take about Bronny James and his entry into the NBA. The 31-year-old insisted Bronny should play in a separate team and not next to his dad LeBron James. These words from Rivers got the attention of Stephen Jackson, who decided to blast him.
When asked about James teaming up with his son, Rivers said, “I hope it doesn’t happen. I don’t wanna see Bronny play with his dad, I really don’t…” Having been in a similar situation due to his father, Doc Rivers’ presence, he reasoned saying, “What happens is people start to discredit everything that you’ve done.” Many did not agree with Rivers, but he shared the above words out of concern for Bronny.

Yet, Jackson went on to blast Rivers. He commented on an Instagram post that highlighted the above take, “Difference is you trash, Bronny not…You can’t compare to him scrub. And your daddy not LeBron. Shut up.” This happened earlier this year in February. It has been four months, and the beef has resumed once again.
