It’s been three years since the NBA 75 list was out and we still can’t get over Dwight Howard’s absence from it. Even Dwyane Wade was shocked about it. Stan Van Gundy called it ‘ridiculous.’ 3x All-Star Gilbert Arenas says at least 75% of the NBA players are still in disbelief. Even Dwight himself had opinions about it. After Howard revived that subject, the guys at Gil’s Arena blamed certain people for one of the biggest snubs on the list.

Kenyon Martin called out Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith, and any analyst, for determining athletes’ legacy this week. “As athletes, we have a problem with Skips, the Stephen A’s, these people… you’ve never laced up and you don’t know what it took for these guys to become who they are.” As he’s often done before, the former Denver Nuggets star slammed the ESPN and FS1 veterans for invalidating the accomplishments of NBA players by feeding fans a negative narrative.

Arenas and Rashad McCants agreed that these analysts have no right to judge an NBA player’s professional body of work. This is why Gil brought back a subject that’s bothered him for three years. “100% of athletes are still wondering how did you make a 75 list without Dwight Howard.”

The NBA’s 75th anniversary team came out in 2021 missing arguably one of the best centers the league has ever seen. Dwight Howard, an 8x All-Star, 3x DPOY, a multi-time rebounding and slam dunk champion, and an NBA champ, was excluded and it still messes with those who played with and against him.

“It still boggles every single player who’s ever played this game, like, wait his resume… what the f**k are ya’ll talking about. If we had to put this s**t in numbers, he’s going to be top 25. So how’s he not 75?” Arenas questioned on the podcast before making a lengthy airplane analogy to blame it on sportscasters.

It might sound like Arenas, Martin, and McCants are disagreeing with whatever Smith and Bayless say as usual. But the Top 75 snub to Howard has been a sore point for this lot and many others for a long time.

Is Dwight Howard's Top 75 snub the biggest disrespect in NBA history?

Have an interesting take?

When the list was first announced, Kendrick Perkins said on First Take, “Dwight Howard gets disrespected so much it’s ridiculous.” Perk would’ve rather replaced Bill Walton with Howard, who is statistically better. Smith got very loud, arguing against his opinion. Funnily, in the same rant, Smith blamed the media for Klay Thompson not being included in that list. Smith would later question Anthony Davis’ inclusion over Howard.

Even the biggest DH12 rival, Shaquille O’Neal felt that Howard should’ve been on the list. D-Wade, Arenas, Jameer Nelson, and more spoke out about it. But recently, we got Dwight Howard’s honest thoughts about the snub on Above the Rim.

“You know the way they did it, I was not happy about that…I ain’t gon lie, it kinda pissed me off, man. I ain’t gon front,” he said on the podcast. Arenas in 2021 said it’s absurd that Patrick Ewing made the cut over Howard. Even Howard, though with a lot of respect for Ewing, said something similar.

He pretty much called the snub a slap in the face. He instead makes his own top 75, 10, 50 etc lists. The jury is still out on his choices.
