Even legends like Dwyane Wade have their humbling moments. But at the hands of barely a college freshman? The Miami Heat icon shared the incident on his own Instagram profile—complete with a smile of embarrassment and a valuable lesson. Wade posted a video featuring clips of a practice session alongside his father, Dwyane Wade Sr., his longtime friend Chris Johnson, and Chris’ son, Isaiah Johnson.
The lighthearted moment came when The Flash found himself guarding Isaiah—a promising young athlete—and ended up tripping, nearly losing his balance. Wade, however, had a good sense of humor about his humbling moment. Describing the cover pic of the IG video he shared, Wade wrote, “Me when I realized I sprained my ankle 🤦🏾♂️ The lesson I learned was don’t try and guard a D1 Athlete 😂 #Familybusiness.”
Well, it’s not just him being a D1 athlete, but being quite impressive at what he does. At just the high school level, Isaiah is already making waves, averaging an impressive 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. No wonder he’s seen as an exciting prospect in basketball today. In fact, it was just recently that Isaiah’s journey hit a major milestone.

On November 13, Isaiah officially signed with the Colorado Buffaloes, a moment celebrated on the Buffaloes’ Instagram page. The post, featuring a graphic of Isaiah, simply read, “signed. @isaiahj___ is officially a Buff 🦬”. The announcement post by Isaiah, meanwhile, had comments from both Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. “Yes sir nephew”—the stars had the same comment for the young talent.

What makes this story even better is Isaiah’s confidence leading up to this moment. Back in August, he teased fans with a photoshopped image of himself in a Buffaloes jersey, signaling what was to come. The fact he had already caught the attention of not just D-Wade but the likes of LeBron James during his high school stint itself was a reflection that something big was on the way for the budding basketball star.
The time when Dwyane Wade praised Isaiah Johnson for his 1,000-Point Milestone at Campbell Hall
What does it take to achieve greatness? For Campbell Hall’s Isaiah Johnson, it proved to be a mix of patience, discipline, routine, and sacrifice. Qualities that helped him hit an incredible milestone–1,000 points in high school basketball.

Isaiah’s father, Chris Johnson, couldn’t hold back his pride, and honestly, who could blame him? In a heartfelt Instagram post, he celebrated his son’s accomplishment and thanked everyone who’s been part of the journey. “Watching my son pursue his dreams with steadfast dedication brings me immense joy,” he shared. Further calling this milestone the result of years of hard work and a true blueprint for success.
And guess who else noticed? None other than D-Wade, who dropped in with a simple but powerful comment: “The work 🔥”. And now, if Isaiah can humble a Hall of Famer like Dwyane Wade, the future sure is bright for the Buffaloes and its budding star.
