This viral Emmy speech caught Charles Barkley and his co-host Gayle King’s attention. Recently, the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards celebrated the pinnacle of American prime-time television, showcasing outstanding talent and performances. Among the highlights of the event were the remarkable speeches delivered by award-winning actors. Their genuine emotions and profound words resonated with the public. But there was one particular speech that stood out from the rest. Capturing the attention of fans and making headlines across various media platforms, this clip went viral on social media.

In the latest episode of their show, Barkley and King engaged in conversation with the talented actress, Niecy Nash, who won the Emmy Award for the best supportive role. After her name was announced, she took a moment to thank herself, a gesture that impressed the audience.

During her conversation, the Phoenix Suns legend asked how the actress prepared herself if she were to lose. In response, she shared her hilarious plans to leave the event if she didn’t get the award. She said, “I have been to the big show a couple of times Charles and I walked away empty-handed so you never know how it’s going to go.” Nash added, “So I looked over at my better half and said, ‘Listen If they don’t call my name I am gonna spit on the ground and we walkin out.”

Niecy Nash talks about her inspiration behind the viral speech

When probed about the inspiration behind her Emmy speech, the actress candidly shared her journey of constant self-improvement and her ongoing quest to prove herself to both viewers and peers. “Because I know what it cost me…I just know trying to prove myself to my peers, going through the stuff that you go through in life… people don’t see. They don’t see what happens behind closed doors, they don’t see your pain, they don’t see the heartache. All they see is the shiny parts of your life and it took a long time for me to get there, in that moment, and I was proud of myself, and I still am,” said Nash.

Her Emmy speech read, “And you know who I wanna thank. I wanna thank me,” that gained applause from every personality present at the event. “For believing in me and doing what they said I could not do. And I wanna say to myself, in front of those all you beautiful people. Go on girl with your bad self.”
