Trinity Rodman denounced her father publicly for a lifetime of neglect and it escalated on the Internet. It was expected that her scathing words would reach her estranged dad. Dennis Rodman showed that he not only heard it, but it also spurred him to respond. The 5x NBA champion’s offcourt life is no secret. He was separated from his children’s mother(s) and was in child support battles with them. But for the first time, Rodman is explaining his perspective as a father in response to Trinity’s statements.

He took to his Instagram page to share a video of all the pictures he has together with the soccer star. The pictures span from Trinity’s childhood through her soccer life, with her brother DJ, and other milestones. Rodman is with her in all the pictures. In a lengthy caption, Rodman acknowledged he wasn’t the best dad but he conveyed that he always tried.

“Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still Try and Never will Stop,” He wrote. He also hinted that Trinity was told by someone to stay away from him when he wrote, “I will keep Trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls. I will try even when it’s difficult and if it takes a long time.

He goes on to write, “I’m always here And tell you all the time rather it’s your voice or voicemail how proud I am. I always had one wish and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying pick up the phone you have my number, You see me calling, I’m still here Dennis RODMAN- Dad.”

Rodman has not lived with his three kids for most of their lives. While his eldest daughter, Alexis, lives a quiet life, his youngest, DJ is an emerging basketball star who recently played in the G-League. Trinity is the most famous of his children as as a forward for the Washington Spirit in the NWSL and on the national team. Rodman ended his message to her writing that he keeps up with her career despite being kept at a distance.

“FYI: I watch you play All the time😊 (actually flew in to watch you play and was told not to show up bc who I was with instead and me just wanting to support you So I watched you from my hotel balcony just to make everybody happy. I love All My Kids #untold #storys”

He further commented under his own post, “God is in control.” And perhaps the most striking part of this response is his girlfriend commenting, “❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹Let the truth be told.”

Rodman is getting consolation from his Instagram followers on this post. But the caption reads deeper than that. He’s implying that someone put the distance between him and his kids. And hinted that he wasn’t allowed to watch her games because of his company (possibly his girlfriend).

Dennis Rodman directly responds to Trinity

It’s not uncommon for Trinity Rodman to go deep into her estrangement with her father. But when she was on Call Her Daddy this week, she didn’t hold back. “He’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else,” she shockingly declared.

The Worm separated from Michelle Moyer in 2012, but their relationship had been on-and-off. Trinity and DJ grew up watching their parents’ turbulent relationship. Trinity said that despite earning $27 million in the NBA, Dennis never contributed to child support. She said on the podcast that she, her brother, and mother lived in a car while Rodman partied away.

“We tried to live with him, but he’s having parties 24/7, he is bringing random b*tches in. He loves the spotlight. He loves the cameras,” she said. She admitted that he supported them before the divorce but after, “it was just like, ‘F**k you guys.”

Rodman’s post seems to indicate otherwise and he claims he was there for her. He also shared those pictures for that reason.

The ‘FYI’ at the end of his post seems to reference when Trinity said she and Dennis had a heartwarming moment at the 2021 NWSL playoffs (pictured above). “After that, radio silence. I didn’t see him for, like… until this year.”

Rodman implies that not only is someone deepening the rift between him and Trinity, but claimed that Trinity herself is airing out family laundry for attention. Because he responded to a commenter with, “I tried [to tell Trinity] kids love the internet brother.”

Trinity has not responded. But the drama is getting wilder thanks to Dennis’ girlfriend.
