The emotional week for the Wade clan had one of the most memorable memories. From the renaming of the street to the 8-foot statue unveiling, Dwayne Wade had his entourage with him. His son Zaire also spoke before the iconic ‘This is my house‘ was shown to the world. Later, the entire group would celebrate once again as the honor is now set in stone. Sharing a glimpse of the after-party, the Miami Heat legend revealed the impact of all the enthusiastic celebrations.
Dwyane Wade’s eldest took to Instagram to share their version of “passing the phone to…” In the video, he says, “I’m passing the phone to the GOAT, you all check it out. ” Obviously, it was his father who was celebrating the special day. He shouted, “Set in stone.” Music was being played in the background and as soon as the DJ dropped the beat, Dwyane Wade started dancing. He might have gotten a little too excited as the camera lost its angle by the clip’s end.
“This is why my back jacked up today 😂” Dwade later confessed in the comment section. The moment must have been from one of the many celebrations that the Heat icon had revealed previously.

“We’re somewhere in the middle part of the day. So we’re going to continue. We’re going to take this boat. We’re going to celebrate on that. Then we’re going to go to a restaurant. We’re going to celebrate, too. So a whole weekend,” Wade had said as he and Gabrielle Union walked hand-in-hand after the statue unveiling.
There was even a pre-celebration party ‘Statues Are Forever’ in Miami’s Overtown. This time, he danced with his youngest. Both Wade and Kaavia wore stunning white outfits—Wade looked sharp in a white suit, and Kaavia rocked an adorable white princess dress.
After the successful ‘This is my house’ moment, Dwyane Wade expressed his gratitude for the honor. “I have no words, really. I don’t know. It’s going to take a while to process this, but I just feel happy, I feel thankful. I feel grateful. I feel blessed. And I’m so appreciative.” The ever-smiling Heat legend got emotional during the ceremony, as his son was delivering the speech.

Dwyane Wade’s tears up as Zaire speaks of perseverance hours after heartbreaking news
First, the Vice President and former teammate Udonis Haslem, paid tribute to ‘The Flash.’ Later, the President, Pat Riley, spoke on the dice about Wade’s journey. To end the ceremony, Zaire honored his dad, not just as a player, but “about the man behind the statue.” His first story was about the perseverance that Dwyane Wade instilled in him.
“Here’s a thing you instilled in me as a kid to make me the young man who I am today — ‘No matter what you do in this life, you will have obstacles.’ You will have obstacles, there will be ups and downs, it is important to believe in yourself, support and chase something that may be only at certain times you can see.” Even before the 22-year-old could complete the story, his father couldn’t hold his tears.

On the 26th, there was the G-League draft, and as per previous reports Zaire Wade had declared for it. However, unfortunately, the 22-year-old went undrafted. He played in the league in 2021, mostly from the bench, and was once again looking to complete his dream of playing in the NBA. So the day held a bit of a sting to it and Zaire’s will, standing strong and unfazed through the moment, could have melted the icon’s heart.
But it was good to see the father-son bond during the emotional week, despite Dwyane Wade ending with a sore back.
