Austin Reaves was raving about Anthony Davis on All The Smoke?recently when he apparently provoked one NBA veteran to respond. He gave Davis his due credit for sure, but he also had social media users coming for him. Many would argue with Reaves over the fact that Davis was the best guard in the league currently. One of them is a 7x NBA champion. So he knows what he’s talking about.

Robert Horry had a bone to pick with Austin Reaves. And he did that on the latest episode of his podcast,?Big Shot Bob. He’s not only countering Reaves’ take on the second-best player in the NBA currently, but also expressing why Reaves upset him.

Austin Reaves is proving to be the underdog star of the Los Angeles Lakers roster. But the humble athlete uplifts his teammates over himself. When he appeared on All The Smoke?recently, he wanted to give Anthony Davis his due acknowledgment.

“He?s obviously a good person to have on your team, especially defensively,” he said about Davis. He went on to make his defense in further statements. And then he made a contentious statement.

He?s arguably right behind LeBron as the most skilled player I?ve ever seen.” Reaves would claim that Davis’ versatility and talent made him a reliable teammate and strong opponent.

Yes, Reaves is spot on about Davis’ obvious skills. And ‘The Brow’ deserves to be appreciated for emboldening the Lakers. But elevating him second to the great LeBron James made more than a few people iffy.

One of them was Robert Horry. A 16-season-veteran, ‘Big Shot Rob’ has seven NBA titles to his name. He also played for the Lakers from 1997 to 2003.

He had some things to say about Reaves’ opinions on his podcast,?Big Shot Rob. Horry had nothing against Davis, but he would pick Kyrie Irving over him.

Kyrie is known to be one of the guys with the best handles,” Horry said. But he also acknowledged Reaves’ point that AD is one of the best defensive players in the league. “AD is skilled though,”?Horry reinforced.

Robert Horry has made a switch to broadcasting in his post-NBA career. He went on to honor a veteran broadcaster, Stu Lantz at this year’s Emmy Awards.

So it seems that they can meet in the middle for some things. But in the same podcast, Horry declared he’s upset with Reaves. The reason is hilarious.

The current and former Lakers both play in Clayton Kershaw’s ping-pong tournament. But now Reaves didn’t want to play with Horry this year.
