In a recent interview for ?TMZ Sports?, NBA veteran Matt Barns gives his honest opinion on Damian Lillard?s sudden trade to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. in Milwaukee.

He mentions in the interview, ?I?m excited for Dame. Obviously, he wanted to go to Miami. That didn?t happen, but for him to have the opportunity to win I think is the key and the goal, and him teaming up with Giannis [Antetokounmpo] is definitely gonna give him a great opportunity to win a championship.?.

He further adds, ?I think probably even a better opportunity than he would have in Miami.?. The comment made by Matt Barnes will not sit well with Miami Heat fans, but the 43-year-old NBA veteran genuinely believes that Lillard may have better odds of winning a ring with his current team than he would?ve with Miami.

Many Miami Heat fans will claim that the NBA community is underestimating the Miami Heat squad. It was the Miami Heat that eliminated the ?mighty? Milwaukee Bucks in the 1st round Playoff last year. However, the Portland administration had no interest in sending Damian Lillard to the Miami Heat.

Despite many rumors floating around about Damian Lillard?s growing interest in moving to Miami, the NBA community was in for a major shock, when the former ‘Portland Trailblazers‘ superstar got traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Damian Lillard has been very vocal about his strong relationships with members of the Miami Heat team. He has mentioned in an earlier interview that he has immense respect for Jimmy Butler?s game. He is also a close friend of the Miami Heat center, Bam Adebayo.

Considering the Miami Heat?s quick offense and stable defense, Damian Lillard at point guard would?ve been a great fit with the Miami Heat. However, the Milwaukee Bucks also have a lot to offer. Giannis Antetokounmpo?s offense combined with Milwaukee?s quality defenders might just do the trick for Lillard?s first-ever successful championship run.
