It’s not uncommon for NBA players to use their fame and influence to do some good for the world. Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James are the leading names in basketball philanthropy, but most stars use their wealth and access to uplift their communities. The latest celebrity All-Star Charity Event saw many players, from Dennis Rodman to Gary Payton, joining the effort to raise money for a good cause. Even Stephen Curry was recently playing golf in Las Vegas to raise money for food campaigns. Now, it’s the turn of Dwyane Wade.

He’s all set to participate in an upcoming charity event. It will be held within the next few weeks and has turned heads as it is going to bring back two former teammates into the limelight.

Dwyane Wade and Travis Diener to compete in Golf Charity Event

Dwyane Wade is joining former Indiana Pacers player Travis Diener in a charity occasion titled ‘Wade vs. Diener’. It will be a three-day event where the two basketball players will compete against each other in golf, basketball, and a few other activities.

The 18-hole Golf outing is set to take place at The Bog in Saukville. The basketball match, on the other hand, will be held at a private camp in Mequon. The event will help to raise funds for local youth literacy programs.

The Miami Heat legend took to Instagram a few hours ago to promote the event on his story. Featuring a video of him playing golf, he captioned it “Wade vs Diener! 1 Annual Tourney coming soon! LG Milwaukee!” Diener was also tagged.

Prior to the story, Wade had shared a post announcing the event to his fans, where he and Diener practiced taking a couple of swings using their golf clubs. The post was captioned “Game on @dienertravis.”

While the duo of Wade and Diener never played together during their time with the NBA, they were both teammates in college for the Marquette Golden Eagles.

Even though Wade is participating for a good cause, the tournament also provides him with an opportunity to take revenge for when he lost embarrassingly to Diener.

Beer came out of Wade’s nose when competing with Diener

Almost six months ago, Wade and Diener attended the basketball showdown between Marquette Golden Eagles and Providence College.

During the second half, the Jumbotron captured a moment featuring the duo engaging in a beer-chugging contest. While Diener finished his drink within a few seconds, Wade had to hold back and couldn’t even finish his entire beer. In fact, whatever he could gulp down in that few seconds came out of his nose a little later.

Diener later flexed his victory on social media with the caption “Too Easy”.

Wade might have a stacked trophy cabinet as an NBA legend, but the bitter beer-chugging loss against his old friend will surely sting. With the upcoming charity match, Dwyane Wade can exact his revenge.
