Draymond Green has been the talk of the town for a while. The absurdity has reached the level where a post about someone’s Remembrance Day also gets a Green reference. Recently, ex-basketball coach George Karl brought up the Golden State Warriors star’s name in a post that was about Cincinnatus Powell.

Powell was a 6’7 forward who passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 80. He was a 2x ABA All-Star and he scored 9,746 points in his career.

The post by ABAThrowbacks remembered Powell on his Remembrance Day: “We lost Cincinnatus Powell a year ago today. A former ABA player for eight seasons and 2x ABA All Star, Cincy was a tough, bruising forward who scored nearly 10k points for his career. Powell was the first cousin of former US Secretary Colin Powell.” However, Karl, who might have witnessed Powell’s career brought up Green by saying, “Tough dude! Would pummel Draymond!! 😆😘” It’s clear from the way his post was worded that Karl said it more as a joke.

However, the Draymond Green situation, especially with regard to his on-court brawls has only become more absurd with time. Currently, the Warriors star is suspended from the league. Recently, Green released a new episode of his podcast where he acknowledged his mistake and apologized for the things he has done recently. He said, “I was wrong regardless of what I was trying to do. None of that s**t matters. I was wrong and I accept my fault and I apologize.”

The 4x NBA champion said that he understands he has let several people down with his behavior, especially on the court. He said, “My children have had to live [the consequences of my actions]. [Warriors GM] Joe Lacob made a commitment to me this past summer for four years. The conversations we’ve had leading up to this, I felt miserable”.

The 33-year-old also said that after his suspension he met with the NBA commissioner Adam Silver and told him that he wants to retire. Thankfully, Silver talked him out of it and as of now Green has no such intentions and is looking forward to joining his team. As for his meeting with his coach Steve Kerr, Green said that when they met, both of them cried following his confessions and his admitting that he had done wrong. It seems as though Draymond Green is finally seeing the gravity of his actions.
