Many NBA stars have tried crossing over to Hollywood or the entertainment industry in the past. The most successful have been Michael Jordan and LeBron James, who featured in “Space Jam” and “Space Jam 2” respectively.
In recent news, a 6 ft 7 NBA champ recently was a part of the iconic “Squid Game” reality TV show. The NBA champ took to social media to talk about his experience playing the role of an intimidating ‘guard’ in the reality TV show.

NBA Champ as “Squid Game” Guard
Recently making its debut on Netflix, “Squid Game: The Challenge” is a reality TV series fully inspired by the famous TV show, “Squid Games”. In this reality TV show, competitors take part in a few tasks (a combination of luck-based and skill-based) to advance to the next round. The winner of the final round gets a big cash prize which can change their life forever. Former Lakers star Metta World Peace plays the role of a 6 ft 7 guard, who unnerves and intimidates the participants in the show.

The 2010 NBA champion posted the trailer of the reality TV show on his Instagram story. He types, “This was fun” in his Instagram story, summing up his experience on the sets of the reality TV show. But this isn’t the first time that Metta World Peace has been part of a TV show.
Metta World Peace’s other TV Stints
The 6 ft 7 NBA veteran has built quite the reality TV resumé after his decorated NBA career. He was part of “Dancing with the Stars”, “Celebrity Big Brother”, and the “Lip Sync Battle”. However, the most intense reality TV show he was a part of has to be “Beyond the Edge” in 2022. The retired NBA veteran stepped out of his comfort zone to take part in this reality TV show, where nine celebrities venture to the Panama jungle for an ultimate test of survival. Super Bowl MVP Ray Lewis, NFL legend Mike Singletary, “The Bachelor’s” Colton Underwood, and “The Real Housewives of New York City’s” Eboni K. Williams, were some of the few celebrities who also took part in the reality TV show.

The contestants in the show compete in several challenges over the course of two weeks for an estimated cash prize of $750,000 for their respective charities. It is satisfying to see Metta World Peace add to his illustrious list of reality TV shows.
