As a new owner of the Washington Commanders, Johnson has been a harsh criticizer. Sharing his honest, yet hard-hitting criticism, it’s pretty evident that he is not too happy with how the season is going for the Commanders.?

Thus, Johnson has shifted his hopes toward LeBron James‘ Lakers. The 3x NBA MVP shared on his Twitter, “I?m really excited about the start of the NBA season tomorrow! The four best teams in the West will be featured on national TV: the Lakers vs. the Nuggets and the Suns vs. the Warriors!”

In another tweet, Johnson shared,?”My two favorite basketball teams in the world have a chance to win championships this year. The Los Angeles Lakers have a chance to win the NBA Championship and MSU?s men?s basketball team has a chance to win the NCAA Championship!”

2x NCAA champions Michigan State University made it to the quarter-finals and the semi-finals of the Big Ten in 2022 and 23, respectively. This time, former MSU star Johnson believes his team can make it past the Big Ten to win the NCAA title.?

The 1979 NCAA winner compared the Lakers’ gameplay to that of MSU. He shared, “The Lakers and MSU are both talented, play exciting run-and-gun basketball, have deep rosters, and have outstanding coaches in Lakers Darvin Ham and Hall of Fame MSU Coach Tom Izzo!”
