While basketball experts mull over a report that places Michael Jordan‘s 1988 DPOY win in question, the NBA legend is off to a vacation. Jordan is often seen trotting around the globe with his wife Yvette Prieto. Taking out one of the most expensive and gorgeous yachts, His Airness was spotted 5000 + miles from their home to Ibiza.

The couple often takes out one of the yachts from their collection for their lavish trip each year. Fans who spotted Jordan out on the vacation believe, that it was his 82-foot yacht, M’Brace which is worth $15 million. Photos shared on X showed MJ’s wife Prieto basking in the sunshine while Jordan was seen enjoying his cigar. Last year, during their Europe trip, both Jordan and Prieto were spotted enjoying dinner with NBA legend Magic Johnson and his family.

Just a few days ago, a report by Yahoo Sports’ reporter Tom Haberstroh claimed that while MJ won the DPOY title in 1987-88, there was a vast difference between his home and road games stats. While the report has gone viral and has caught the attention of many, neither the NBA nor Jordan seems bothered about it.

Michael Jordan’s Catch 23 couldn’t win millions of prize money up for grabs

Jordan retired from the NBA almost two decades ago, but that hasn’t diminished his competitive spirit. Along with his efforts to elevate 23XI Racing, MJ likes to fuel his competitiveness using his expensive yachts and boats. These yachts are not just to show off his $3 billion net worth.

The 6x NBA champion entered his ‘Catch 23’ in the 66th annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament earlier in June where a total prize of $7.5 million was up for grabs for over 300 boats.

Jordan’s squad could only bring 400 pounds of fish and lost the competition. ‘Game Time’ won the tournament with a 516-pound fish and bagged a prize money of $1.8 million.

The last time Jordan won a position in this competition was in 2020. Bringing in a remarkable 442.3-pound fish, his squad and the Viking boat won the 2nd place. The Viking boat was worth $8 million, much less than Catch 23. The 6x NBA champ is surely making good use of all his expensive yachts.

The Chicago Bulls legend is now off to enjoy quality time with his wife, away from competition and media coverage.
