For better or worse, the Hendersons vowed. Even if it’s the worst of Keion’s art skills. In the third week of The Groow Zone, Shaunie Henderson finally revealed that it was her husband who came up with the title. He convinced her about the theme of the podcast with visual aids. Handmade too. So Shaunie ribbed Keion’s art skills on the podcast a little. But the pastor is secure in his talent. From calling in a talented collaborator to expanding his artistic sphere, Henderson was sticking to the theme of Groow Zone. Regardless of how much she pulled her husband’s leg, Shaunie is supportive of his dreams.

For most of the opening, Shaunie is the proud beaming wife describing how Keion outlined the theme of The Groow Zone. (Spoiler: it’s derived from the ‘ozone.’) She loved his idea from the description. But Keion didn’t have to try harder by creating a drawing to support it.

She even said, “Because I love you, the drawing was a 10,” but if she didn’t care for him, she’d give it an honest review of 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. And yes, it stung for Keion who thought it was better than a two.

From his description, he depicted plants growing within the ozone layer, ultraviolet rays attacking it, and life thriving. Shaunie even joked they should display it on the podcast for their viewers to get. But she meant it sarcastically and Keion declared, “Next time I’m going to have Amirah do it.”

We didn’t know Shaquille O’Neal and Shaunie Henderson’s daughter, Amirah, was a flex-worthy artist. But even her mom sais, “Yes, Mimi can draw all day.” But she feels no one can do the concept of The Groow Zone justice better than the originator himself.

When Keion sold the idea of a new podcast to Shaunie, he said they should “create an environment that protects people while they grow,” like the ozone protects the earth. At the moment, she misled him into thinking it was a ‘work of art’ out of love. Now he realizes that she was teasing him.

But true to theme, they turned it into a learning opportunity about celebrating differences. The Hendersons’ main disagreement is what makes a good drawing.

Shaunie, whose creative credits include Basketball Wives and this podcast, suggested they let viewers judge it. But like Deena breaking out of Effie’s shadow in Dreamgirls, Keion said, “I’ll do it as an NFT.”

Maybe Shaunie got flashbacks to her ex, Shaquille O’Neal’s drama with NFT, because she didn’t like that idea at all. But this podcast is about protecting each other’s dreams. So she said, “Whatever, I’m supporting you.” What more could her husband ask for?
