Just last week, Shaunie Henderson’s family pulled off a heartwarming surprise for her 50th birthday. Her husband, Keion Henderson, teamed up with his extended Lighthouse Church family to make her day truly unforgettable. And Shaunie’s kids also gave her warm wishes. But the highlight? Fulfilling one of Shaunie’s long-time dreams—jetting off to the opulent city of Dubai. And from the looks of it, she’s soaking in every luxurious moment.

On her Instagram, Shaunie shared snippets of their dreamy getaway. A series of photos and videos showed her living her best life aboard a yacht, with stunning views, husband Keion, and none of her children in sight. One video captured Shaunie and Keion dancing under the Dubai sun. Another post showed her hugging her husband warmly. She summed up the moment perfectly with the caption, “Sunsets in Dubai 🌅.”

Singling out their dancing video in another post, Shaunie wrote, “I love this for me!!” 

Shaunie, who was skeptical about getting back into the dating scenes after her divorce from Shaq, including Keion Henderson, has finally found joy. “You deserve to be in environments that bring out softness in you, not the survival,” her video was captioned and she wholeheartedly agreed. It isn’t just love from her husband that she is surrounded with though.

Just days earlier, Shaunie had dropped a teaser about her Dubai plans in a heartfelt Instagram video. “Dubai… Birthday trip… You know this is a bucket list place, so we shall enjoy it,” she said. Accompanied by Keion and two of her children, Myles and Amirah, a celebration of love and family it turned out to be.

Myles, her eldest from a previous relationship, didn’t hold back in adding humor to the mix. In a playful video, the young DJ teased his mom about her milestone age. “Hey, I’ve been helping my mom all through the airport. She can’t see anymore, she’s turning fifty and she forgot her glasses,” he joked.

Meanwhile, Amirah, Shaunie’s second eldest daughter with ex-husband Shaquille O’Neal, also joined in to make her mom feel special. Beyond in-person persence for the special day, both Myles and Amirah shared heartfelt birthday wishes for Shaunie on social media. But Keion might have just upped it a notch.

Keion and Lighthouse family make it special for Shaunie

“I didn’t have a goal in dating. I did not want a husband. So it was like I was aimlessly dating,” Shaunie had admitted on their The GrOOwZone Podcast. When she came across Keion, she wasn’t sure about moving ahead there either. But things sure turned out great for the CEO of Amirah, Inc. Her 50th birthday, celebration was one proof of that as Keion and their extended Lighthouse Church family went all out to make her day extra special.

As the First Lady of the Lighthouse Church, Shaunie received a grand welcome at the church’s service. Members greeted her with a guard of honor, singing cheerful birthday songs. To top it off, everyone presented her with a flower. And Shaunie couldn’t hold back her excitement when she shared her gratitude on social media.

“So this happened this morning…caught me by surprise! I felt like I was on the @jenniferhudsonshow 😱😍😩 I love my Lighthouse Family! ❤ thank you all so much!” she wrote. Her milestone birthday, which coincided with Thanksgiving, became a weekend-long event packed with surprises, love, and lots of joy.

But the celebrations didn’t stop there. The church’s Instagram page shared a sweet birthday message: “We love you, First Lady Shaunie 🥰🫶🏾💙.” The post also invited everyone to join in for Sunday services to continue the celebrations. “Don’t miss this special day!” it read.
