Zaire Wade is quietly reclaiming his place in the conversation that nowadays is mostly about other star kids like Bronny James and Kiyan Anthony. After a challenging run in the NBA G-League and a trip overseas, Dwyane Wade’s eldest has announced his comeback in the G-League, ready to chase his dreams once more.

So, what’s next for Zaire? According to GTV Hoops, he’s entering the 2024 G-League Draft on October 26. That’s right—he’s making his comeback. And while many of us would shout this kind of news from the rooftops, Shareef O’Neal took a different route. In classic, silent support, he shared the GTV Hoops post on his Instagram story without a single caption.

Now, will Zaire have a tough time finding a team? Well, probably not. He’s already played in the league, getting picked 10th overall by the Salt Lake City Stars back in 2021. Unfortunately, his momentum was cut short because of a knee injury in 2022. But now, he’s eyeing a new shot. And in case you’re wondering, yes, players can enter the G-League Draft multiple times as long as they are unsigned.

“It was such a surreal feeling because of all the hard work that I put in” — considering Zaire’s emotions over his first selection, he’d most likely be welcoming this second opportunity with arms wide open. Just last month, a proud Dwyane Wade had shared the highlights of the 22-year-old in action. ” Zaire @zaire Jus Hoop Open Runs Highlights 🔥🔥🔥 #jushoop #juswin,” he wrote as Zaire managed a few buckets and assists.

So Zaire is certainly geared up, blind to the noise that may come his way, as he revealed after his previous G-League stint. The announcement by GTV Hoops, however, brought somewhat of an unfair comparison between Zaire and Bronny. Something that was seen on a larger scale on the announcement by NBACentral on X.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Zaire Wade outshine Bronny James in the G-League, or is the hype too much?

The announcement by Dwyane Wade’s eldest son turns unkind towards another

Ever since Bronny James announced his decision to enter the 2024 NBA draft, criticism has been evident. It only amplified with the LA Lakers drafting him into an already-struggling team. And on top of that, during the time when JJ Redick is debuting as a head coach.

While initially there seemed to be some sense to these criticisms, considering Bronny had nearly no college basketball experience, it only seems to have continued regardless of a situation concerning him. An IG user commenting I wouldve picked him over bronny at least ziare giving u at least 9ppg, is an example of just one of many such netizens.

The comment came as a reference towards Zaire’s 9.3 points per game in 4 games he played for BAL’s Cape Town Tigers. But it seems James’ 8.8 ppg in 4 games he played during NBA’s Summer League in Vegas was forgotten. A slight edge to Dwayne Wade’s 22-year-old, yes, but nothing to bash Bron’s eldest son. Now it’s to be seen how well Zaire can make use of the G-League to further his odds at the big league.
