Don’t believe everything till you see it for yourself right? Well, it looks like Shaquille O’Neal’s sons had no faith in viral videos compiling Angel Reese’s terrible plays. That could be one explanation why Shareef O’Neal and Myles O’Neal were at the courtside witnessing the Chicago Sky star at Unrivaled. A 3-on-3 women’s basketball league debuted in January this year after raising $35 million in funding. It seems, however, that the O’Neal boys did the right thing, not trusting bits and pieces shown in the aforementioned compiled clips on social media platforms as they witnessed the Sky star’s domination in person.
The reason that we say domination is because Reese did not have a subpar start in the 3-on-3 format. However, her recent performances, like 22 points and 21 rebounds last month, reflect a major transformation. Something that could’ve been the reason to pull Shaquille O’Neal’s sons on the courtside for the matchup between Reese’s Rose Basketball Club and the Laces. “Goood feet’s twin,” Shareef captioned his IG story featuring Reese in the game.
However, Reese’s game is not the only factor that could’ve attracted Shareef O’Neal to the courtside. Let’s not forget that Shaquille O’Neal’s 25-year-old son was also involved in designing her custom shoes, as revealed by Shoe designer Marvin Baroota in a conversation with Women Hoops Network.

Yes, the Sky star was involved in a controversy with Shaquille O’Neal where the former Los Angeles Lakers star faced major fan backlash after his comments about Reese’s dress. The two stars had shared a father-daughter-like relationship prior to this controversy. But there came no updates on their bond following the controversy. Shareef and Myles’s presence at Angel Reese’s game is a sense of relief in this regard.
A closer look at Angel Reese’s domination against the Laces
Angel Reese and the Rose Basketball Club had a big test on Monday, going up against the Laces Basketball Club in a crucial Unrivaled matchup. With Brittney Sykes and Chelsea Gray by her side in the starting lineup, Reese was ready to make her presence felt.

And she wasted no time doing just that—at least on the boards. Right from the jump, she snatched four quick rebounds, showing off her signature hustle. But offensively? It was a slow start. Her first field goal attempt didn’t drop, and her first trip to the free-throw line didn’t go her way either.
Of course, it didn’t take long for her to flip the switch. Reese got in a groove, knocking down two field goals and sinking her second free-throw attempt. Thus finishing the first quarter with six points.

By halftime, she had quietly stuffed the stat sheet with six points, seven rebounds, and an assist in just seven minutes. Shooting 2-of-4 from the field and 1-of-2 from the line, she was already proving to be a force inside.

But Reese wasn’t done yet. By the time the third quarter rolled around, she had put up 10 points, 10 rebounds, an assist, and a steal in just 12 minutes. Her efficiency stayed steady, going 4-of-8 from the field and 1-of-2 from the stripe.
And when the game was on the line? Reese delivered. She finished with a dominant 16-point, 17-rebound performance, leading Rose to a hard-fought 58-53 win over Laces. A masterclass for Shaquille O’Neal’s two sons, who were in attendance at the game.
