“I’m actually jealous, he’s really good,” said Shaquille O’Neal once about his eldest son. Myles O’Neal, the music enthusiast of the family, has been making waves in the music industry by performing at some of the biggest festivals and collaborating with various artists. Following in his father’s footsteps of captivating audiences, Myles has unveiled an exciting new announcement in his music career.
The 27-year-old took to Instagram to share the thrilling news of his upcoming track, Clockin. In the post, he can be seen seated against the breathtaking backdrop of the Dubai desert, exuding confidence. “IM POPPIN MY S*** NOW, ON THE BROS. 12/13,” read the caption of the post.
The Instagram post was met with an outpouring of support, especially from his family. His brother, Shaqir O’Neal, affectionately commented “Twin,” drawing parallels between their close bond and a shared sense of style. Meanwhile, his mother, Shaunie, showed her love by liking the post.

The desert scene wasn’t just a casual photoshoot—it was part of a recent birthday trip to Dubai for his mom, Shaunie Henderson. Moreover, Myles is not the only one in the group. He is followed by his sister Amirah, Shaunie’s husband Keion Henderson, and other family friends. “Dubai… Birthday trip… You know this is a bucket list place, so we shall enjoy it,” said Shaunie in one of her Instagram videos.
For Myles, this moment is more than just another announcement—it’s a step forward in a music journey that has been months in the making. The 27-year-old saw the release of his first single, Superficial, featuring Hadar Adora, last year. The song has received over 400k Spotify plays. Moreover, he has cemented his name in the EDM community by collaborating with artists like SIDEPIECE, Sickick, Chantal Jeffries, and NITTI.
Now Shaq may not have expressed his support on the next chapter yet, but he was by Myles’ side from the very beginning, helping him with the resources but also nudging when he lacked the necessary knowledge.
Shaquille O’Neal went off at Myles for gaps in EDM knowledge
Shaquille has always had a deep connection to music. Long Before his EDM career, he had a rap career in the 1990s, releasing several albums, including hits like You Can’t Stop the Reign. He is DJ Diesel now, entertaining massive crowds with his energetic sets. So it was only natural of Myles to reach out to him at times. But once, Shaq admits to have come off a little too hard.

“My oldest son [Myles] who’s a top DJ now, he came in one time and I was hard on him. So usually when I’m hard on them, they just step away. But he, he listened to me and I didn’t have to like. I feel good when I don’t have to make the call,” Shaq recalled during an episode of his The Big Podcast.
Like I got this much knowledge so when I’m teaching, I’m giving you all the knowledge. Listen, what’s BPM? Get out. Get out, I told you this is 76 and this 77, the songs go together. So he got out and stayed with it and now on his own he’s one of the top DJs.”
When Myles first realized he wanted to make a career in music, he apparently approached Shaq. The NBA icon, always clear with his concept of ‘Respectable Nepotism,’ where his kids arrive with the idea for their ventures first and Shaq helps them next, followed through with his eldest. “I said, ‘Alright, I’ll help you get the equipment,’” Shaquille explained. The rest that followed has been Myles’ efforts. “He’s done it by himself,” Shaq added.
