Shaquille O’Neal is now a proud owner of 3 Tesla Cybertrucks, but there’s something about the third one that screams ‘special’. As most fans would know, the 5x NBA champ is one hot car lover, but still, three Cybertrucks seem overkill. Well, it won’t when you get to know that the second one was a customized one-of-a-kind edition. Meanwhile, this latest addition to his collection comes as a literal gift to the former LA Lakers star.
The backstory goes like this—a while ago, Shaq surprised the team at Effortless Motors with a Dodge Charger Hellcat. Now, they wanted to repay the favor in a big way. As one of the associates put it, “We came up with the crazy idea to try to repay him for what he did. Shaq has zero idea we’ve had this for two weeks now and we’re gonna gift him with a full 360, 1 of 100 Waido Live Body Cybertruck. Custom-built by Effortless Motors.”
So, what makes this Cybertruck stand out from the rest? Well, apart from its sleek widebody design, it’s all about the Waido live body fiber. If you’re scratching your head, wondering what that is, let’s break it down. Waido is a company that specializes in widebody kits and custom car mods. They’ve worked on models like the Tesla Cybertruck and Ford Explorer, and their first widebody kit rolled out back in 2016—available in ABS plastic and carbon fiber.

Waido has a unique way of working their magic. According to their website, “every new widebody kit begins with a design idea.” Sometimes they choose the car themselves; other times, they work on custom requests. It all starts with sketches, which then get a digital makeover through CAD software. But here’s where Waido stands out—instead of drastically changing a car’s look, they aim to amplify its original character. Thus, adding an extra layer of style while staying true to the vehicle’s roots.
From there, the process is pretty impressive. They start by 3D scanning the car and then use a high-precision CNC machine to cut out the molds. After vacuum-forming the ABS plastic, they fine-tune everything by hand, ensuring a perfect fit before prepping the parts for painting.
Apart from this unique body kit, the newly customized Cybertruck for Shaquille O’Neal also boasts 26-inch Forgiatos—custom wheels, manufactured by the company of the same name. Now, those who have been following Shaq’s love for the Cybertrucks would know that this wasn’t his first one.

Shaquille O’Neal received his first widebody truck because of LeBron James
You know that old saying—One man’s misery is another man’s fortune? Well, if you’ve ever doubted it, Bron and Shaq’s incident with Effortless Motors is the perfect proof! After James’ disapproval over a dealer’s claim, Shaq ended up with a nearly $100,000 toy—yes, you read that right. And naturally, he couldn’t resist sharing the whole story on social media.

Shaq is a sucker for customized cars. And later his garage, which has more than 30 cars, welcomed a new star—a second Tesla Cybertruck. But not just any Cybertruck—this one was the first-ever carbon fiber, wide-body edition. And, of course, it came with a little flair.
Effortless Motors, the dealership behind the deal, delivered it right to Shaquille O’Neal’s doorstep and even shared a mini-vlog of the delivery on Instagram. “I hate to say it. I got the cleanest Cybertruck in the country, thanks to Effortless Motors,” Big Diesel himself boasted in the video.
But where does LeBron come into the picture, you ask? Well, a while back, Effortless Motors posted about how they had supposedly sold a Bugatti to LeBron. But King James wasn’t having any of it. He took to his Instagram Story and shut down the rumor in no uncertain terms. “Stop the 🧢!! LIARS!! I don’t know y’all and I don’t even have that car. CLOUT CHASERS.”

Funny enough, while LeBron was busy setting the record straight, Shaq saw the post and thought of contacting the dealership. And a few months later, the futuristic Tesla was all his. Of course, the 4x NBA champ couldn’t resist poking a little fun at the situation.
“Bron was upset that one of the secretaries posted that they sold him a car. A couple of young cats trying to get marketing business… But I said, you know what? If Bron could fit in the car and he don’t want it, let me holler,” Shaq joked. It could not be any clearer that Shaquille O’Neal has a soft spot for customized cars but more so for Cybertrucks. Well, at least his third one screams it, if nothing else.
