While he came into the NBA as a dominant collegiate athlete, he would soon take over as a multiple time NBA champion and an all-time great. Since retiring, he’s been on a similar trajectory in life as well, taking on a variety of avenues. Even though his marketing takeover has been nothing short of genius, his stint as DJ Diesel continues to excite.

However, the Los Angeles Lakers legend is back again in a new avatar. But, with yet another shade to his personality, this time it drew the ire of his own family.

Even though he’s immensely popular, the latest indulgence by Shaquille O’Neal might be a little impossible. According to his Instagram post, the 7-footer might take a shot at running for President. With a custom-made Shaq for President t-shirt and glasses,?Diesel was a pillar of innocence in the post. While his beloved fanbase would surely be all for such a move, the practicality of the situation might not be ideal. Even though he’s an all-time legend and a mainstream celebrity, the former Miami Heat champion might not be able to draw in the necessary manpower.

Further, his own family doesn’t seem fully on board with the idea. His millionaire son, Myles, could only express his exasperation on his father’s post. “Like this comment if you?re voting for this man to run the country. I need to see something.”?

Even though unlikely and apparently not fully with Myles’ support, a potential move for O’Neal as POTUS could be legendary.

For years, Shaq’s generosity has been a major link to making him such a universally loved figure. If he could bring those same qualities to his presidency, the people person could become the people’s president.

The tales of the big man’s generosity spread far and wide. Whether it be affordable shoes or random acts of charity, the former MVP is a true MVP in life as well. It could be that love for the people, that led to the big man taking up the moniker of a “people person”, that determines his success as a presidential candidate. If he does take up the candidacy seriously, there could be some traction for Shaq for POTUS.
