Many people know Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal for the skills and prowess he displayed on the basketball court. After his retirement, however, the one other side of the 7ft player that NBA enthusiasts have seen is the relationship he holds with his loved ones. From Shaq joining forces with his millionaire stepson at music festivals to the former player standing by his eldest son’s side as he underwent heart surgery, Shaq is known to be quite the family man.
The same level of bonding has been passed down to the younger O’Neal’s, one of whom recently took to social media to share a wholesome flaunt.
Shareef O’Neal highlights his jerseys in Lucille O’Neal’s house

Shareef O’Neal recently took to Instagram to share a story with his 2.8 Million followers. It featured the young player sitting in the corner of a room in the house of his grandmother, Lucille O’Neal.
Shareef highlighted two basketball jerseys that were placed on the uppermost part of adjacent walls. One of them was a plain white apparel that bore “O’Neal” and the player’s chosen number: 45. The second jersey was donned in the orange colors of the Los Angeles Lakers. With the word “Lakers” highlighted in bold, the jersey also bore the “45” number. The Lakers jersey serves as a reminder of the moment last year when Shareef signed with them as part of their Summer League team.

This is not the first time that the O’Neal children have publicly disclosed a moment involving their grandparents. It was only a few weeks ago when Myles O’Neal, in order to get approval regarding the same, played his grandmother his new song.
Shaquille O’Neal recalls buying his mother two laptops
Shaquille O’Neal has always shared a close relationship with his mother. In fact, when he got his first paycheck, the first thing that Shaq decided to do was to buy his mother a significant amount of gifts. Lucille didn’t like that, since she didn’t want her son to spend so much money for her sake.
During an episode of Monica Arnold’s show ‘MoTalk’, the 4x NBA champion touched base on how he put his mother through hell “from 2 to 14”, describing himself as a “medium-level juvenile delinquent“. As things changed, however, Shaq decided to make up for all the trouble he gave. An opportunity occurred when Shaq and his mom visited Best Buy.

“I was ear hustling, you know. I was standing over there. She’s like ‘Yeah I want to get my son this laptop’” said Shaq during the interview, recalling the moment that took place decades ago. After she started looking at a payment plan for a $1500 laptop, Shaq jumped in and brought two of them for Lucille.
“It was for me, just to see them people smile because that was me and my mom” Shaq added at the end, getting a little emotional.
