Shaquille O’Neal and Shaunie Henderson’s divorce understandably brought misery to their son, Shareef. The 23-year-old admitted he was in a terrible state following the divorce as he did not want to choose sides. Oscillating between complex emotions like “I didn’t want to make my mom mad” and “I didn’t want him to feel like we were abandoning him,” Shareef was caught inside a web. Several years have passed since, and Shareef O’Neal has since been mending fences.

During the latest trip with his mom and his sisters, the young baller tried his best to reduce the awkwardness with the help of a 21-year-old rapper. However, it looks like that did not help at all!

Shareef is the first biological child of Shaq and Shaunie. Well, this is exactly why it was very hard for Shareef when the famous couple divorced in 2011. The Los Angeles Lakers legend had publicly revealed he almost went into depression after his ex-wife’s departure. It was more or less similar for the LSU star.

Shareef has followed his dad’s path for most of his life. Playing basketball, that too as a center for the LSU Tigers, which is the Big Diesel‘s alma mater. When his parents suddenly decided to part ways, Shareef had a feeling that he was abandoning his dad

Anyhow, Shareef’s miserable medical condition back in 2018 got the family back together tight. Since then, the 23-year-old has been uploading pictures and videos with his sisters and mother regularly. However, this time, it was a bit weird!

The 23-year-old shared a video on his Instagram story where it looked like he was trying to force his family to get hooked to Memphis rapper Lil Double O. He wrote, “Got my mama and sisters on that @lildouble00.” However, Shaunie and Shareef’s 6’4 sister, Me’arah O’Neal, didn’t seem to be interested at all. Guess the family reunion did not go as planned!

The former LSU Tigers star had to undergo open-heart surgery back in 2018. The situation was very critical, as it was termed a do-or-die. Undoubtedly, this surgery did a number on both Shaq and Shaunie.

However, the good part was that the entire family came together to show their support for Shareef. The 23-year-old’s surgery was successful and so was the family reunion. Thus, a win-win!
