Shaunie Henderson has superpowers when it comes to her kids. In her first-ever book, Undefeated: Changing the Rules and Winning on My Own Terms, the mother of five shared that her divorce from Shaquille O’Neal filled her with guilt and made her overprotective of her kids. So, whenever her children were in trouble, she would rush to help them out. She recently shared a hilarious message to show what it was like for her.
And probably, it hasn’t changed yet. Shaunie posted a video that humorously shows how moms can get anything done when it’s for their kids. She jokingly warned people not to mess with her kids. The caption read, “This is me….I am mom! Don’t play with mine(kids)”
It was a humorous, made-up video of a conversation between a mother and daughter, where the latter frustratingly explains how she got overcharged a bill and wasn’t getting a refund. Despite her daughter’s insistence not to be bothered by it, the mother offered to help.

It worked out. The clip ends with the daughter’s surprised reaction as she is baffled to see how her mother solved the ‘impossible’ mission. Me’Arah is aware of it too well. She reposted the story on her IG Story and added laughter emojis.

Henderson’s son Shareef too quickly reshared the clip on his IG story and confessed, “And imma still call you to ask what everything means.” Shaunie is super protective of their kids. This was something that even led her to make one parenting mistake.

Shaunie believed she was taking away the most important thing which is family from her kids. Initially, she felt guilty and worried that this would negatively affect them. She also believed that this guilt led her to help her children with their issues more than she originally intended.
It took her a long time to realize that she wanted her kids to be independent and strong. In her book ‘Undefeated’, she detailed how she inherited this habit from her mother. “For a long time, I felt terribly guilty about breaking up our two-parent home, so I coped by trying to solve every problem for them,” Shaunie wrote.

However, the Los Angeles Lakers legend’s ex-wife wanted something different for her children. She wanted them to learn all the essentials before facing the world. Slowly, over time, she learned to let go. Yet, being protective of her kids is just another side of being a mother that Shaunie probably won’t be able to change.
