Leave it to Shaquille O’Neal to turn a random shopping day into a concert. After back-to-back DJ sets in two different states, Shaq was in Florida where he turned a meeting with a fan into something wholesome. The same fan, Ronnie Beatz, shared the experience of meeting someone taller than him at the Guitar Center in Hallandale Beach along with DJ Diesel’s larger-than-life antics.
Ronnie Beatz, a music producer based in Florida, was surprised to meet the one and only Shaquille O’Neal at the Guitar Center where he works. “Normally, I’m taller than most people in the building… Not today tho. Probably the coolest experience I’ve had at work. Shaq really is larger than life but yet so humble and down to earth,” he wrote on Instagram with a picture of him barely reaching the 7’1″ giant’s shoulder.
Shaq just wrapped two EDM events in Denver and Albuquerque on January 5 and 6 before coming back to Florida. He seemed to have been shopping for his own musical necessities and helped other shoppers with their own. As Ronnie described, “He dropped some [diamond emoji]s, paid for a random customers entire basket.”

Moreover, he impressed the store full of sound technicians with his own beats in an impromptu concert. It made Ronnie write, “and was cool enough to play some beats for us. It’s still unreleased so no audio , but you can tell by everyone’s reaction it sounded good.”

According to his profile, Ronnie Beatz has been producing music professionally for over a decade. For him to enjoy Shaq’s music is a professional seal of approval. Some of Shaq’s fans weren’t completely impressed by his music, though they were shocked to see him at the most unusual places.

Shaquille O’Neal sightings leave fans reeling
Shaquille O’Neal will never turn a fan away. That tends to provide photographic evidence of people running into the big man in unexpected events. One X user recounted a relative’s tale of meeting Shaq at an event he was a DJ-ing at. He didn’t get a glowing review, though. “He wasn’t that good,” the fan honestly stated. “But I appreciate the fact he’s doing something he loves.”
Someone who recently discovered Shaq’s alternate career remained stunned. “I would never ever in my life put Shaquille O’Neal together with electronic music lol,” the fan said on X.

Regardless, O’Neal revels in the EDM circuit with his festival, Bass All-Stars, which held its all-female edition at Denver’s Mission Ballroom. Floridians were also stumped when DJ Diesel took Hard Rock Tampa and the UCF homecoming game in 2023. What do you think of these not-so-ordinary Shaq sightings?
