Shaquille O’Neal’s Ex-Wife Was Burdened With “Trust Trauma”, Makes a Public Confession to Husband

Shaunie Henderson tied the knot for the second time in 2022 and ever since, she has been transparent about her marriage with Shaquille O’Neal. The ex-wife of the Los Angeles Lakers champion took almost a decade to find love with someone else, and that was only because of her doubt in trusting a partner. The 49-year-old has not hesitated to take a jab at Shaq on quite a few occasions. The latest one was during an interview with her husband Keion Henderson, where she hinted it through her “trust trauma”. 

Shaunie is loving her marriage with Keion Henderson at the moment. The two have made a lot of public appearances, joined interviews together, and whatnot. Last month, the two sat together in front of a huge audience, where Shaunie was questioned about the foundation of a relationship. The 49-year-old said it was “trust” and the crowd erupted. She did not stop there. She threw light into her previous marriage, which gave her trust trauma. 

Shaunie shared, “I came with trust trauma to the relationship…Maybe not to the relationship, but I was aware I had trust trauma. I feel like we think we’re working on things on your own time…but you don’t know if you are healed or how you’re dealing with that trauma until you’re triggered by it.” 

The television personality later revealed that she does not have that trauma anymore. However, she put out a small warning to the audience out there to be careful about it. Notably, Shaunie has indirectly hinted at such a problem on several occasions like this. Even on her social media!

In 2023, Shaunie visited Italy with her husband and she shared several updates on her Instagram about it. On a series of posts, one picture revealed a quote, “Someday, all the love you’ve given to the wrong people will find its way back to you in someone who’s waited their whole life for your kind of love.” The picture also included a photo of Keion Henderson, who is the “someone” she is referring to in the latter part of the quote.

Importantly, she has also shared a lot of things that she is enjoying in her second marriage. She shared in another interview, “One thing my husband did… What’s our goal for the next month? The next 3 months? The next 6 months… It went all the way to 5 years…I have never… In a relationship, in a partnership, ever sat down and done our goals that way.” All the above statements effortlessly sum up what she is trying to convey.
