The King wears many crowns and he has somehow added another gem in the form of Shaquille O’Neal. Not only does he continue to dominate at the age of 39, but the 4x NBA MVP is still achieving unprecedented feats. The most recent one saw James achieving a wholly unique streak that has lasted longer than Shaq’s entire NBA career!

LeBron James dropped 29 points in the Lakers’ 120-109 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves yesterday. In the process he also tallied his 1,208th consecutive game with 10+ points. For context, 4x NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal’s entire career spanned just 1207 regular season games.

Interestingly, his Los Angeles Lakers teammate Austin Reaves was just 8 years old the last time James scored under double digits in the NBA. That was all the way back in January, 2007. Along the way, the King has conquered some unthinkable records that will likely never be eclipsed.

The Big Aristotle played 1,207 games to reach the 7th position in the NBA’s scoring list. Back in the 2016-17 season, James started at 12th on the list, however, soon he leveled up his game and passed O’Neal to grab his spot. He surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387 record last year to stand atop the all-time leaderboard. Currently, the King is comfortably in the 1st position with 40,067 points.

In one of his latest games against the Denver Nuggets, the 20x NBA All-Star became the first NBA player to score 40,000 points. Speaking of this crazy and unbelievable moment, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer said, “Being the first player to do something, it’s pretty cool in this league, just knowing the history, the greats that’s come through the league and then you see some of the greats on the floor tonight, it was great to compete.” He added, “But for me, the main thing, as always, is to win, and I hated that it had to happen in a defeat.”
