Has Amirah O’Neal violated Shaquille O’Neal‘s rulebook for his kids? The former Los Angeles Lakers star during an interview had stated he does not want his daughters to be dating anyone before they turn 24. Amirah is 23 as of now. And although there have been no reports of her dating anyone, her recent IG story is bound to raise some gossip in the corridors.
In the snap, Amirah turned heads with a bold outfit, but that wasn’t what might have had everyone talking. Nope, it was the mystery man beside her. His face wasn’t visible, but we did get a glimpse of him rocking an orange upper with a pair of jeans.
The next story shared by Amirah was a quote, “Forever and abundantly blessed.” Makes you wonder if this was a cryptic message around her relationship. Well, we cannot be sure just yet. Now, that could mean anything, but the caption does hint at something special.

That said, even if she is dating, would Shaquille O’Neal really have a problem with it? Probably not. She’s just months away from turning 24, and honestly, his infamous dating rule was about more than just age. It was during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Big Diesel said, “My sons can date when they’re 18 and my daughters can date when they are 24.”

Ellen, of course, called him out on the double standard, asking why the rules were different. Shaq’s reasoning? He believes his daughters are smarter than his sons and holds them to higher standards. He didn’t want them to get distracted from their goals. And in his mind, that justified the different rules. And it’s good that Amirah has found her confidence, considering what she went through in the past.

Amirah didn’t want to go to school because of 1 gift from Shaquille O’Neal’s genes
Big Diesel’s kids were bound to be tall—it’s practically in their DNA. And while most people would consider that a blessing, not everyone saw it that way, especially his daughters during their high school years. For Amirah O’Neal, her height became a source of insecurity rather than pride. In fact, there was a time when she dreaded going to school because of it.
Her mother, Shaunie Henderson, revealed that both Amirah and her younger sister, Me’arah, struggled with being taller than most of their classmates—especially the boys. “Starting in elementary school, they were always the tallest kids in their class. But while height is cool for a boy, growing up, Mimi and Me’arah hated it,” Shaunie shared.

If you’ve ever felt self-conscious about something you couldn’t control, you can probably relate to what Amirah went through. In her book, Shaunie recalled how much it affected her daughter’s confidence. “At one point, Mimi (Amirah) didn’t want to go to school because the boys would make fun of the fact that she was taller than they were,” she wrote.
Considering all of this, it seems a positive development for Amirah, whom Shaunie now calls ‘life of the party’. Her story with the mystery man certainly screamed so.
