His first love might be basketball, but Shaquille O’Neal has many other desires. Revealing several choices, Big Diesel wanted to enter “law and enforcement politics” as well. However, what’s funny is that this comes a few months after Shaq was pulled over in Houston for his mischief on the road. It went viral on all social media platforms after a video of Shaq falling prey to a police officer was used as an intro for ‘NBA on TNT‘.

Well, it looks like Shaq doesn’t want to be in a situation like it anymore. The Los Angeles Lakers legend surprisingly has a police badge.

Shaq has a profound love for the police uniform. His father served in the US military and also taught Shaq a lot of discipline, which he often speaks about. Moreover, he also helped the 4-time champion make a decision in his career. The 51-year-old shared that his first option was to be a basketball player. His other options were a cop, detective, entrepreneur and sarcastically he added gangster in the end.

However, after basketball, Shaquille O’Neal had immense respect for cops and especially a sheriff.

Shaq shared in the interview, “It’s the end of my career. I was like, ‘What do I want to do?’… I was like, ‘I’ll be a sheriff’,” explained the 2000 NBA MVP. He further explained his reasoning, stating, “I like the position, I could win… I understand law enforcement politics.”

However, Shaq doubted if he will be “respected” as a sheriff, although he wanted to run for it. Anyhow, the highlight is not the fact that Shaq wanted to be a sheriff, but that he was caught by one.

Houston police made a mockery out of Shaquille O’Neal

Although the four-time champion is a disciplined man, the one time he decided to speed up, things went downhill. Shaq was not only caught by a Houston police officer for speeding but also recorded for ‘NBA on TNT’.
