Chris Rock made a mildly offensive joke at the expense of Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith during last year’s Oscars ceremony. Smith took it into his own hands to defend his wife’s honor and slapped the comedian for the same. That slap reverberated throughout the world and became an iconic moment that is still talked about today. Shaquille O’Neal had a rather interesting take on the matter.

Shaq said, “No no he laughed and then Jada did like this. That’s when the PPL kicks in. Because all you married guys know – Unhappy wife, unhappy life.”

O’Neal made it clear that Smith only got up to whack Chris Rock when he saw his wife Jada unhappy. Many argued that irrespective of whether Jada was unhappy with the joke or not, it didn’t warrant Chris Rock a slap. Nonetheless, O’Neal seems to have gotten over the incident as he shared Ludacris’ post.
