Shaquille O’Neal undoubtedly loves cars! From the Ferrari F355 Spider to the Lamborghini Gallardo, he has a stunning car collection. He made some questionable decisions just to get his dream rides. In the latest episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, O’Neal recalled making a healthy wager with his rich friend to get his hands on a gorgeous Maybach creation. It was during his playing days in the NBA.
While O’Neal admitted that he never really gambled much, he once made a bet with a friend over his Maybach. The bet was that if he could hit a three-pointer, the friend would have to give him the Maybach. If O’Neal had lost, he would have had to give away his Cullinan for it. As you might already know, O’Neal won the bet and received the Maybach.
“The biggest bet I had was when I bet a guy one time, one of my rich friends that I could get his Maybach if I hit a three and if I and if I miss a three, he can have my Cullinan,” O’Neal said, via The Big Podcast with Shaq.

The Big Aristotle is highly competitive about his game, and his thriving business is a shining example of his passion. However, he has also made some poor financial decisions, which is surprising given that he is one of the richest basketball stars. He once bought three expensive Rolls-Royce cars out of anger and he doesn’t even use them.
Why did Shaquille O’Neal buy three Rolls Royce Cars?
During an appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, the 4X NBA champion revealed that he bought the cars because the salesman wasn’t responding to questions when he was present in the showroom as he thought Canal couldn’t afford them.
“Now, I’m p*ssed. I said, ‘What the f*ck you just said to me?’ So I buy three. That one, that one, and that one, and I want them dropped off, move the seat back today. So I got 3 Rolls-Royces that I never drive, so there goes another million,” O’Neal said on the Podcast.
Although buying the three cars might have felt satisfying to O’Neal at the time, he later regretted the purchase because he didn’t have the time to drive them. The first car was a Rolls-Royce Cullinan worth $375,000, and the second was the brand’s most popular model, the Rolls-Royce Phantom, priced at $460,000.
