Nikola Jokic winning his third MVP put a smile on a lot of faces. The Denver Nuggets sensation was the favorite choice for many, but a few showed love for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as well, who registered incredible numbers in the regular season. Shaquille O’Neal was one among the numbers to side with the Oklahoma City Thunder guard to win the MVP, but then Jokic received the ultimate honors for the 3rd time. So the LA legend let Jokic know on live television that he felt Gilgeous-Alexander was more deserving. This triggered a lot of netizens, who threw shade at Shaquille O’Neal. Many even termed him as a ‘Big Man hater, and now the 4x champion revealed why he did so with a fitting reply.

Shaq joined TMZ Sports for an interview where he shared, “Let me say something to all the people that are not smart enough to, you know, comprehend what I say. I never said I didn’t like Joker[Jokic]. Never said anything about the Joker. Joker is the best big man in a long time. I just said that I thought Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won the MVP.”

The LA legend added, “It blew up because certain people who don’t have the same kind of ideas that we have to create real content… twist my words… I stand by my opinion. I don’t give a damn who likes it. And whoever don’t like it, you know what, just bite my head off.”

This comes after a week-long feud between Shaq and NFL Legend Shannon Sharpe over the former’s Jokic remark. The last time Shaq backed his claims on the MVP view, he had a rather unique way of presenting.

Shaquille O’Neal’s diss track on Shannon Sharpe to back his Nikola Jokic claim

Shannon Sharpe decided to mess with the LA champion for his decision to choose Gilgeous-Alexander over Jokic. The 2x NFL champion said, Shaq should have five MVPs…He sees a guy like Nikola Jokic that’s not as dominant as him, gets three (MVP awards) in four years, I think a part of Shaq is envious of that.” Sharpe also shared that Shaq would have had 40,000 points if he had the same work ethic as Jokic.

Shaq decided to give a reply in style. He released a diss track lasting 1 minute and 30 seconds, in which he addressed Sharpe’s criticism of him. The Big Diesel also shared an Instagram post showing Sharpe ranked 51st in “NFL 100 Greatest. He wrote, You took me sticking up for [Gilgeous-Alexander] as jealousy?? Shows how smart you are and how you say anything to get clicks. So here’s some clickbait for you. If you ain’t ranked in the top ten in your profession, then you can’t speak on me.” Quite a smart way to get back at his criticismisn’t it?

However, a day ago, Shannon Sharpe revealed that the beef was over from his side. “He said what he said, I’m ready to move on,” he told PEOPLE on the red carpet for the Webby Awards.
