There’s a new love story in town and it is Shaquille O’Neal and the people of Texas, who have benefitted from it. The LA legend’s love and affection for kids is never-ending. Especially if you are a struggling student in the States, you could expect Shaq to find you out. However this time, he was not alone. The 52-year-old collaborated with one of his favorite childhood stores from Texas to upgrade the lives of 20 students from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dallas.

JCPenney, a popular department store chain in the USA, has been making frequent donations to students who are in need. This time Shaq also wanted to be part of it because his mother used to shop all his clothes from JCPenney when he was a kid. In JCPenney’s branch at 6000 Town East Mall in Mesquite, Texas, 20 kids were brought by Shaq from the Boys & Girls Clubs. They were given a $500 gift card each with a shopping time of one hour to purchase their school items.

“You just always have to give back to the community… There’s always somebody in need, I was one of those children that was always in need,” said Shaq when asked about the reason behind this donation. However, the one to be most appreciated here is JCPenney. Some of their notable donations are the $100,000 towards The Walking Classroom initiative, 75 WalkKits to Boys & Girls Clubs, and $15,000 sponsorship for the 2024-2025 Walking Classroom.

Shaq lives in a house in Carrolton, North Texas which he purchased in 2022. It measured 5,200 sq. feet and reportedly cost Shaq $1.2 million. The house has five bedrooms and bathrooms each, a motor court, a three-car garage, a home theater, and a large pool with waterfalls. Fancy isn’t it? Well, Shaq wanted one more of all of the above.

As per reports, the Big Diesel has purchased another house in North Texas county for $1.7 million which is spread over 4,670 sq. feet. The amenities herein happen to be quite similar to his first residence in Carrolton.

However, there are speculations that Shaq might be shifting houses, which means the first one he bought at Carrolton might be for sale soon. Anyhow, until this is confirmed, Shaq has two huge mansions in North Texas. With the probabilities of Shaq staying in Texas for long looking sturdy, the community will sure have help handy.
