It’s Superman vs. Superman in the NBA. And the older one among them might have hammered a final nail with his latest purchase. While the fictional superhero uses his special abilities to save people, Shaquille O’Neal uses his powers for his philanthropic activities as well as to defeat his opponents. But Shaq’s powers might be a bit different from Superman’s. Before DJ Diesel flaunts it to his fans, his son hilariously shared a first glimpse of the new shiny gem.
Shareef shared a clip on his Instagram Story and wrote, “Someone has to stop him, he’s moving different now,” with a crying face emoji. The clip shows a humongous and shiny diamond-encrusted set. This set was customized for O’Neal. Moreover, the words Shaq emblazoned on it show who the owner is.
Solomon & Co. jointly shared the post with AK Designer. Shareef even wrote “Sheesh” in the comments section before sharing it. But the spotlight stealer was the diamond chain. It has a special pendant featuring the S shield that is associated with Superman. It has a diamond-encrusted S resting inside a diamond-shaped shield. Could this be the end of the Superman feud between O’Neal and Dwight Howard once and for all?

Fun Fact: Shaq also has the Superman symbol tattooed on his bicep. Apart from the ring or chain, he made another purchase.

Another reel shared on the company’s IG feed shows another diamond chain, which features the word “DIESEL” encrusted in diamonds. O’Neal, who also made an appearance to receive the chains, looked super impressed. It is likely that the entire piece is made of diamond. While O’Neal usually prefers fake diamond earrings after he lost earrings worth $60,000, since it’s a chain, it could likely be real diamond.
We have often seen rappers and NBA stars commission customized diamond rings or chains. Allen Iverson owns a huge diamond chain featuring the number 3 on it in Roman numerals. The number 3 for Iverson represented his jersey number, so it was an important item for his career. Similarly, this chain might also hold importance for Shaquille O’Neal, even more so considering his feud with Dwight Howard.

Shaquille O’Neal was upset with Dwight Howard over the Superman nickname
The Big Aristotle is often seen wearing a Superman T-shirt. However, Howard was also called Superman by fans. Back in the 2008 Slam Dunk Contest, the Magic star Howard decided to take it a notch higher. He wore the red cape as he went on to seal the victory with a memorable dunk.
However, this led to Shaquille O’Neal claiming that Howard stole his identity and couldn’t get creative enough. This was followed by several back-and-forth exchanges between the former NBA stars over the last few years. The 4x NBA champ took several fiery shots at Howard for his performance and criticized him for a lack of wins until Howard won one in 2020.

It has continued even to the present day. Howard had earlier shown interest in participating in Shaq’s dream potential event to have NBA players go against NFL players inside the boxing ring. However, O’Neal was quick to refuse with sharp criticism. “Gotta have more than one ring to get in the ring with me, I’ll stick with a real champion like, and you can have the Superman belt, all yours buddy,” O’Neal wrote on X in response while possibly admitting defeat in the Superman debate. Even with O’Neal’s new purchase, he isn’t likely to stop the feuding anytime soon.
