Big Diesel for president? That’s what Shaquille O’Neal is asking in an indirect poll. The consensus is that Shaq would make the coolest POTUS ever. He’s already dishing out his campaign promises and it’s very effective in drawing the voters. There’s still no confirmation on whether the Los Angeles Lakers legend is realistically jumping into politics. But he is already proposing a major policy that will leave fans of DJ Diesel happy.

O’Neal is already an entertainment magnet. And his massive social media following see a lot of potential in President Shaq.

With successful careers in basketball, entertainment, music, and now even directing, Shaquille O’Neal is ready for a new career. Shaq’s been dropping hints about pulling a Kanye West and abruptly jumping into the presidential race. It started with an intriguing t-shirt that read “Shaq for president” with reference to the upcoming 2024 elections.

A social media user chimed in with, “The first president to legalize dubstep.” Now dubstep is legal. It is, however, the redheaded stepchild subgenre of bass music. A section of listeners find dubstep loud and disruptive and often call for it to be banned in public places in many parts of the world. In 2014, Las Vegas was one of the first cities in the country to ban EDM and dubstep in clubs. But if DJ Diesel is in the Oval Office, he’d make sure dubstep and its lovers are given their due regard.

He replied to the X user from his official DJ Diesel page, “dubstep is for everyone. I’d have it legalized. Time to throw a festival on the White House lawn.”

After starting his music career as a rapper, Shaq transitioned to EDM later in life. He’s a successful DJ in the world’s biggest moshpits and even launched his own music festival, Shaq’s Bass All-Stars, in September 2023.

Shaquille O’Neal’s testing political waters

A potential Big Aristotle presidential campaign literally came out of nowhere. Without any build-up, Shaq posted on his social media the burning question, “Would you vote for me?” wearing the rather cool tee.

His 32 million Instagram followers and 15 million X followers are hardly taking it as a joke. They’re either positive about Shaq’s presidential bid or asking if it’s real.

Some are pitching options for his running mate. The popular choice so far is his TNT co-host and frenemy, Charles Barkley. Someone has to do the work while Shaq is partying on the White House lawn, after all. Shaq will have to come clean about his presidential aspirations if it’s really true. Which begs the question, would you vote for Dubstep’s greatest advocate?
