Did Shaq make the right call skipping his own event for a giant chicken-fried steak?

If there is one thing that Shaq fans look forward to, it’s a random encounter with the NBA legend. And the bonus will be an opportunity to have a free meal from his Big Chicken Shaq. While many are blessed with the latter, it takes quite some time for the former to happen. Just recently, the Big Aristotle missed a crucial event for his brand to enjoy a “giant” chicken-fried steak. But at least, he may have fulfilled fans’ first wish, though.

The NBA legend made a surprise appearance at Jax Grill for lunch, thrilling the rest of the customers, while the owner was happy to welcome back his grand client. Shaquille O’Neal was spotted at Paul Miller’s restaurant before, making a visit in 2020 when he was awarded a humanitarian award by then-Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

It seems the Lakers legend is a big fan of the chicken delicacies there! Usually, the 4x NBA champion doesn’t like to take pictures while eating. However, he posed for photos with fans and also took a picture with the owner’s daughter, Katie.

“She’s a big basketball fan and was excited to meet one of her heroes,” the restaurant staff said. It was certainly a great time to be dining at Jax Grill! All was well, but the basketball veteran wasn’t where he was supposed to be.

Shaquille O’Neal was absent at the Big Chicken opening at Livonia

Those who met the Los Angeles Lakers legend at Big Chicken’s Fort Worth grand opening might know there’s always a chance for the Lakers legend to make a surprise visit. He spent time with fans, posing for photos and signing autographs.

The newest Big Chicken in Livonia is the third location to open in Michigan, following Clio and Hartland. Like other Big Chicken openings, people lined up early in front of the restaurant for a chance at free meals for over a year. On opening day, the first 34 customers received an offer of a free meal for an entire year, with a limit of $10 each week.

“We’re beyond excited to share Big Chicken with even more Metro Detroit residents, and to be part of a community where we can make meaningful connections with our guests,” Gobah said.
