Shaq's last Canada show—Is this the end of an era or the start of something bigger?

Torontonians, it’s now or wait until next year. After sharing some quick game-changing business tactics at one of the biggest events, Shaquille O’Neal will soon take up his DJ persona to entertain the crowd. Judging by the hype, it seems people still haven’t gotten over the thrill from TIFF last year. With just three months left in the year, O’Neal is back in The 6 for one final performance before 2025.

He announced it on his Instagram Story, posting a picture of himself wearing a T-shirt that said, “I love Canada,” while holding an ice hockey stick. Urging fans to join in, the 4x NBA champ asked, “Who’s ready to get pucked up in the moshpit? My Last Canada Show of the Year.” Get ready for some power-packed O’Neal’s dubstep and EDM.

Shaq isn’t lying when he adorns ‘I love Canada’ T-shirt. The 4X champion genuinely has a love for the land of the Maple Leaf. He’s always had a soft spot for Toronto, even before making his DJ debut at Cabana Pool Bar in 2018. He would later electrify the entire city during the Toronto International Film Festival’s opening weekend at the RBC House in 2023. The first time he felt the affection of the Canadians was in 1992.

“Arrived in Canada for the world games, 92. The Canadian people were so nice… I fell in love with the country, with the city of Toronto and Vancouver,” he says in a clip by BNN Bloomberg while also claiming he can sing the national anthem. So may be why Shaq won’t be limiting his presence in the country for a single event.

There’s also another event in Toronto featuring the “Big Aristotle” that big-shot business executives might be looking forward to.
