German superstar Franz Wagner’s explosive performance last night had Shaquille O’Neal switch accents. The Orlando Magic saw the motivation level rise as their star forward scored 34 points to lead the team to a 112-89 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Magic fans and NBA veterans are in awe of his phenomenal performance. His brother Moritz Wagner, who also plays for the Magic, also dazzled on Saturday night.
After witnessing his former team’s prowess in defeating the Cavs in Game 4, Shaq spoke in a German accent to describe their game. “They come out with great energy. This is Franz with the one-on-one ability (describing a layup). Letting people know he’s too strong. This is one of my favorite guys in the NBA right here, Moe Wagner…Puts it between his legs, lets the guy know he’s too small and I am too strong,” O’Neal said to his co-host Ernie Johnson.
The Los Angeles Lakers legend hilariously added that he might not know who is the younger among the two but he is impressed by their game. “Cause I am a Wagner boy. And back to my older brother or younger brother. I don’t know which one it is. But this is how we play,” Shaq said with the same accent. He continued trying his best German impression, leaving his Inside the NBA co-hosts in splits.

Franz Wagner was the star of the show
While Moritz contributed 7 points and 4 rebounds, Franz’s double-double (34 points, 13 rebounds) was the show-stealer. “He was incredible,” his teammates and brother said. He alone managed to score 23 points in the second half. This has managed to get the Orlando Magic to achieve consecutive playoff wins for the first time since 2010 and tie their first-round series. That’s not the only one.
The Magic also made a franchise playoffs record for scoring the most points in the third quarter and furthermore, tying the franchise record for the fewest points allowed in the second half. This is a big achievement for the team as well as the players.

Last year, Franz became one of the three Magic players to grab 30 points on 70% shooting. Shaq and Dwight Howard were the other two names. The Wagner brothers have not only made their presence known through performances like this game but have consistently fueled the team’s spirits with their contributions throughout their run.
