Another ‘Big Man’ has entered the NBA. Victor Wembanyama has had the hoop community in a chokehold ever since he burst onto the scene. It is common perception that something similar to this hype was last seen when LeBron James entered the league. It’s clear that the expectations for the 19-year-old are through the roof.

However, Wembanyama is also being questioned for his abilities as an athlete who stands at 7’4. Recently, a Boston Celtics legend has taken a stand for the rookie. Not only is he praising the youngster, but the 47-year-old also didn’t hesitate in tearing down some of the other great giants of the game, namely Shaquille O’Neal and Yao Ming.

There is no doubt that Wemby brings a lot of talent to his game. When the San Antonio Spurs picked him in the NBA draft, it wasn’t only because of his height. The 19-year-old is being touted as one of the finest talents and a rare find who will elevate the standard of the game in the coming years. Despite this, his height does make up for a large part of every conversation regarding him. We have also seen teams doing Wemby-specific preparations, trying to figure out ways to control him on the court.

Recently, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were in conversation on the KG Certified podcast. The Celtics legends were discussing the impact and potential of Wembanyama, when KG decided to thrash all the naysayers of the young talent. KG claimed that Wembanyama doesn’t move like someone of his height, instead, he has flexibility that will allow him to reach greater heights in his career. Additionally, KG said, “Yao Ming moving like a big*ss oak tree when he move. Shaq was…walking like a oak tree bumping into sh*t”.

Even though it’s been over a decade since he retired, Shaq has been inspiring people to do better by setting examples. Despite KG’s claims of Shaq moving like an oak tree on the court, Shaq has his own way of moving his mass gracefully for a man of his height. Also, after years of being overweight, the Big Aristotle has been on a fitness journey recently. During the pandemic, Shaq weighed around 415 lbs, that’s when he realized that with age catching up to him, some serious changes were needed. Now, Shaq is a regular at the gym and watching his diet, and now he has taken his weight down to 351 lbs.
