Shaquille O’Neal shared a post talking about the incident on Instagram. The post was titled “Worst-case scenario, you see what I have to offer and you are not impressed”. This intent was made known by Kaepernick after Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury in the opening game. So Kaepernick knew they lacked depth in that role. He did not want a starting role and was only asking for a role on the practice squad to help the team.

People were torn after hearing this news, as Kaepernick was trying to get back to the NFL with the Jets. Shaquille O’Neal shared this post just the way he revealed his opinion on Kaepernick’s actions back in 2016. He did not put any captions on the post. In 2016, when Kaepernick made the move to kneel, Shaq was asked about his actions. To this, Shaq replied that he had nothing to say about what Kaepernick did. He then said that personally, he wouldn’t have done it.

But it’s safe to say that Shaq sharing this has put it further into the limelight. Sharing the post with his 32.5 million fans on Instagram really pushes it forward.

Colin Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since 2016

Colin Kaepernick was drafted by the 49ers in 2011. He played six seasons in San Francisco. But in 2016, Kaepernick made a statement in front of the entire world. He knelt down when the national anthem was playing. According to him, it was to shed light on police brutality in America. Even though he was the first person to do so, players around the league started joining him soon after. This led to a major movement in the NFL, which later transpired into how even the players are treated within an organization.

He further made more headlines when in 2021 in his documentary, he compared the NFL with slavery. Colin Kaepernick has not been in the league since 2016. He tried out for Las Vegas Raiders but he was not signed.
