The former NBA player signed with the ‘Taoyuan Leopards’ in November, 2022. Since then, the former Lakers star enjoys a huge popularity in the democratic island as the latest international sports star.

Despite achieving a lot in his NBA career, the 18-season veteran received no NBA offers. The former no.1 pick is now 37 years old, however, his basketball career is seems far from over. Dwight Howard made the decision to continue playing basketball in the Taiwan professional league on November 7th of 2022 and debuted in his first professional game in the same month.
The former NBA star had a ‘video-game’ like debut as he scored 38 points on 14-of-32 shooting. He added 25 rebounds, nine assists and four blocks to push the Leopards to a 120?115 victory over New Taipei CTBC DEA.

The former NBA star is reportedly going to earn over a million dollars in the 2022-2023 season and he boldly issued an eight word verdict on his Instagram, “I don’t even want to speak english anymore.“.

The former Lakers?star seems content with his decision to continue playing professional basketball. He can be seen smiling and joking around in his brand endorsement shoots, which he recently posted on his Instagram.

Dwight Howard has been one of the most dominating big men the NBA has ever seen and has received multiple NBA titles, including an impressive three-time ‘NBA Defensive Player of the Year’ during his 18-year-long career. However, many NBA fans may wonder why the former NBA star was not offered any other managerial roles in the NBA organisation either?
Maybe it has to do with ‘politics‘ within the organisation or maybe the NBA just didn’t deem him fit as an NBA professional. I guess we will never know.
