Between being a reality TV villain and dusting off drama, Larsa Pippen puts her kids on top. Last week she was being the usual hypemom, cheering on the Memphis Grizzlies when they lost to the Clippers. She’s been present as far as her sons’ games go, whether it’s through social media posts or in person. But Scotty Pippen Jr. tries to curb his self-proclaimed helicopter mom at his games. And Larsa didn’t mind his understandable reasons.

Larsa Pippen made her return to the podcasting space with Going Rogue co-hosted with her best friend, Michelle Pooch. The duo discussed the RHOM star balancing her fame with being a mom. Pippen has always cheered her four kids with ex, Scottie Pippen, by any means.

Both the parents have made sporadic appearances at Memphis Grizzlies games since their son, Scotty Pippen Jr. is on the verge of a breakout season. Senior Pip’s reactions go viral online. But the younger Scotty spares his mom from that. “when we go to basketball games, the kids’ games, we have to like sit in row 17 or we’re like… courtside queens. So it’s like it’s reality,” Pooch says and Larsa agrees.

You wouldn’t expect the reality star and NBA mom anywhere but courtside. But Scotty Jr. asks for it. “when little Scotty gives us seats and I say, ‘hey, I want to come, and I think I want to sit courtside.’ And he goes, ‘no, I want to give you the family seats. I want you to sit with the rest of the moms in the nosebleed [seats].”

And she understands her son’s reasons as well. “He does not want us to come to his game and like shine and like take attention away from [the team],” Larsa said, agreeing with Pooch when she says she respects that.

What’s your perspective on:

Does Scotty Pippen Jr. have the right idea keeping his famous parents away from courtside?

Larsa explained the upside to this arrangement. She’s become closer to Scotty’s teammates’ families sitting with them and has fun being an NBA mom. Note: by the time she became an NBA wife, Scottie Pippen had won his six rings and was close to retirement.

This rule might apply to Scotty Jr’s superstar dad too. The Bulls legend was sitting farther from courtside when he attended one of Scotty Jr’s first games for Memphis last season. The younger Pip did a spectacular dunk on his opponent that made Scottie Sr. react in slow motion. His reaction went viral and won over the Internet.

Though they try not to outshine the Grizzlies in the arena, the proud parents never skip hyping Scotty Jr. on social media. They were ecstatic at his 30-point outing this season. But when Scotty’s Christmas Eve game ended in a sore loss, Larsa still posted a cute, “let’s go” on Instagram.

It was the day of the youngest Pip, Sophia Pippen’s birthday. And she got a special post from her mom too.

By most observations, Larsa is handling being an NBA mom well. Even from the nosebleeds.
