The intense drama between Larsa Pippen and Scottie Pippen has not yet come to an end! The duo tied the knot in 1997. What followed is a long-winded drama that resulted in Larsa calling the former player a “punisher“. They divorced twice: In 2015, before reconciling two years later. And finally, in 2018, when they called it quits for good. The 8-year-long drama has had its ups and down. But a key element in the divorce proceedings has surrounded Scottie’s pension from the Chicago Bulls. What people may not know is how the 6-time champion put in significant efforts 7 years ago to safeguard himself from Larsa.?

With an update on the divorce, the court announced Larsa will receive 50% of Scottie’s total account balances. Now, let us not forget the 51-year-old earned more than $100 million during his NBA career. However, he did attempt to save a lump sum several years ago.?

It all started when Larsa’s dramatic run with American rapper Future got publicly revealed. Scottie did not hold back as he instantly demanded a dissolution back in 2015. However, that is not the only thing Scottie Pippen demanded. Although he did have a prenup, it did not stop the court from ordering him to pay hefty amounts in alimony. The court decided that Larsa would receive 50% of her ex-husband’s earnings from 1997 to 2016.?

But now, it is revealed that Scottie could benefit from a “landmark alimony reform bill eliminating permanent alimony.”?It could help him save several millions of dollars!

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the bill into law recently. While its implications, in this case, are unclear, Scottie could use the precedent to argue against his alimony payments. Considering how determined the former Bulls forward has been to avoid paying, he might well consider taking advantage of the reform.

The Lead Attorney, a famous online lawyer, recently sat down on VladTV to discuss the proceedings. The YouTube lawyer revealed, “Scottie actually made a motion to the court to change his prenup such that she[Larsa] could not get alimony.”

In addition, as per RadarOnline reports, the former Bulls star also demanded full custody of all four of his minor children 7 years ago. Both of these requests were unfortunately not granted. But why?

What happened to Pippen’s 2016 motion?

Regardless of signing a prenup, Scottie was legally required to split his savings with his ex-wife. Despite the former no. 33’s numerous attempts, the court did not relieve him of the significant alimony payments, which could amount to $50 million! According to the attorney from Vlad’s latest video, “I don’t know what Scottie’s prenup said about the alimony, but apparently it allowed it.“?

Furthermore, this is the precedent in California law. The Legal Attorney explained that this is the norm when ending a long-term marriage. ?So a lot of people, especially women, would say, ?Hey you know if you?re with a dude for 20 years and gave him four kids you kind of deserve half, right???

Now that Florida has filed a bill to eliminate further alimony, let us not forget the man who might try to benefit from it. In the meantime, Larsa seems to enjoy both the money and her new dating life with Michael Jordan‘s son. ?
